WWE wrestler Charlie Haas asked for his release within the last few months. Although WWE officials were initially willing to grant him the release, they changed their minds and opted to give him a raise instead. However, Haas has been used infrequently since then.

Powell's POV: The buzz is that Kurt Angle had a role in mind for Haas in TNA, and WWE opted to re-sign Charlie rather than let him jump to the competition.

I saw someone post this at another forum, wow WWE sinked low with this

I hope Charlie does go to TNA. In WWE they wernt using him to his full potental, but Im sure they will in TNA.

Charlie has amazing talent I still think they can make him into something. I would like to see a Team Angle return or something. Hopefully it works out for him either way.

Typical WWE....'Oh we wont use you for the next year or so,' but as soon as they want out WWE decides to bribe them. Can't have it both ways.

TNA does the same thing, they tell their talent if they wanna leave and when the ppl actually do want to go...they decline their request to leave

Very cold-blooded on the WWE's part; they basically made him choose between having an actual career and settling for a mediocre one so he can provide more for his family.

I cannot say I'm surprised at all; I AM surprised at the fact they actually consider TNA something of a threat now
