why is there a weird black box around the text?

if you paid attention in the chat, i wanted to have a black background and put that logo in the corner so it blended in. for some reason, it wouldnt let me, so i had to add it in the middle.

now couldn't you have just anchored the layer and use the blend tool?

the time i tried that, it wouldnt work, remember?
