5 Questions With Melina

Melina did a short little interview with my friend Shirlz who runs melina-unlimited.net so I thought I would share it here. She is a very sweet and sincere person and very passionate about wrestling and her fans.

Question 1: You got to work with the FCW Divas a couple of weeks ago. What were your thoughts on them?

I thought they were great. Very sweet and full of potential. I had the
pleasure of working with Naomi, Aksana and Liviana. They impressed me by
what they have learned in such a short amount of time. Great work ethic
and good hearts. There were other Divas as well but they were on the
road so I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them. They were all
wonderful though.


Question 2: We all know you LOVE Twitter, but what made you want
to join? Did the Chicago signing in March motivate you to login?

Every time I do a signing I always chat with people, but since it’s a
limited amount of time and we always want to make sure Everyone can get
an autograph, so we rush a bit. I realized that through Twitter, I can
talk to people or hear them out without rushing.


Also, My first injury was very difficult…. Seeing youtube tributes
touched my heart… made me feel like I matter, at least a little bit, in
the wrestling world. Injuries can be depressing. I was going through a
lot at that time. This time around, I wanted to talk to all the fans and
let them know how they lift my spirits through the toughest times. More
often than they realize. Thanks to Twitter, I can show the WWE universe
who I really am. It’s been a blessing and I have made some incredible
friends that I cherish deeply on there.


Question 3: A lot of fans remember the days of you constantly
changing your hairstyle! But which one makes you cringe looking back?

Oh Man! You went there!!! :p Ha ha ha! There was a lot of those moments!
Hair, clothes, make up. Ha ha ha! I don’t regret it. I see some people
stick with the same safe look. Which there is nothing wrong with that.
It’s good to do what you feel is you and what you are comfortable with……
but for me, I want to be daring in everything that I do. So I can say I
tried that. Also, I want to look different than what I normally do
everyday…. I’m a pigtails girls. Very light make up IF I wear any. When I
get into Diva Melina mode I want to try everything! So I can look back
at pictures and laugh or think, wow…. that was me!!! Yes, I love my dark
hair….. but at that point of time I was new and wanted to make an
impression…. funny how I did it in so many ways though. It’s all for
fun!


Question 4: Many fans criticise you by assuming you are like your
heel character in real life. Why do you think your MNM persona was so
successful in getting a reaction from the crowd?

People usually cheer for who they know and have grown to love. I was a
new character on the scene and let’s face it, I was good at being bad
:P. It’s acting. I played the part of a woman who felt like she was
untouchable and the rules never applied to her. There was so much that I
saw for this character and I formed it from various people who came
into my life and I thought “hmmm. I could act like that.” I used to be
very quiet and people used to take advantage of that. In the ring was
the only moment I can pretend that I didn’t let people walk all over me.


Wrestling truly has made me grow in so many ways. I’m not a shy girl
anymore but I still keep my feet grounded. I am stronger physically and
emotionally from all of this. I also have learned to get in touch with
my “girlie” side… because I was a tom boy and I never thought I was
pretty let alone sexy. In my opinion, Beauty comes from how you feel
about yourself as well as how you make others feel. This has been a
tough road but incredible none the less. I have learned that much more
about family, friends and the world through being in wrestling. I am
very grateful for it all.


Question 5: What match in your career do you think “defines Melina”?
There can’t be just one. I am constantly evolving and improving…. One
match can not define me. My entire career, from the first to the last is
what will truly define The Diva Melina.

i think its sad her fans and herself believe this is really the case

Aww Amazing interview. She is so sweet and caring. I love her passion and her attitude. She is just an amazing woman.
