BREAKING NEWS: Skip Sheffield To Miss 4-6 Months

We have some breaking news for you this evening involving an integral member of The Nexus, one of the biggest stables in recent World Wrestling Entertainment history.

As we all know, Skip Sheffield suffered an apparent leg injury while working a live event house show for the WWE Monday Night RAW brand in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 18th, while teaming with fellow member of The Nexus, David “A-List” Otunga to battle the WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith).

Well, according to a report from F4WOnline, it was as serious as many had anticipated as Sheffield suffered a compound fracture in his left ankle that will require surgery.

He is expected to have surgery some time next week once the swelling subsides. As of now, it is being reported that Sheffield is expected to miss anywhere from four to six months of action for rehabilitation as a result of the serious injury.

As the report states, this is obviously very bad timing for Sheffield as The Nexus storyline isn’t expected to still be around when he is healthy again with talks indicating it could end as early as October.

As we noted in our previous report on Sheffield, we exclusively reported here on Force Of Wrestling hat we could possibly see The Hart Dynasty defend their WWE World Tag Team Championship titles against two members of The Nexus, at the upcoming pay-per-view, Night Of Champions.

Following the pairing of Otunga and Sheffield on this an edition of WWE Monday Night RAW two weeks ago, in a winning effort against “The Shaman of Sexy” John Morrison and R-Truth, as well as working live events against the champs, it was strongly anticipated amongst several individuals backstage that this duo would be the ones to go on and ultimately challenge The Hart Dynasty for the gold at the event.

Yes...that would be my reason, plus he was meh, i saw nothing special in him.

i thought he was ok. nothing special yes...but eh neither are the other members other then Wade and Justin

He was begiining to grow on me. I never see him becoming a star, but I like his tag team matches. His clothesline from hell isn't that bad either - still take JBL's though.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the picture of Skip Sheffield on wwe.com at the beginning of NXT Season 1 was next JBL.

I think he has a similar (although slightly more althletic) build than JBL and when he wore his hat beared a resemblance to him also. I think that if Sheffield had had the right sort of storyline (possibly fueding with Justin Gabriel or David Otunga) he could have had a very respectable career in WWE.

But this injury could ruin it all. Most people expect him to return long AFTER The Nexus split. WWE tend to depush people who return from injuries as they lose faith in their ability to stay healthy. As a result, I wouldn't be too surprised if he is gone from WWE within 6 months of his return.

It's a shame, because I think he was one of the ones (along with Barret and Gabriel) who had the potential to go far in WWE.

After a few times seeing him, he kind of reminded me of Lance Cane. I think it's the vest!

You could be right because who ever thought that JBL himself would go from a member of the New Blackjacks in the mid 90s to a future WWE Champion?!

I like Skip, I hope they dont cut him but Knowing WWE They prolly will. I only like Justin, Skip and Heath from Nexus and David and Wade are okay. Im meh on the others.

As it seems this has gone from a topic about Skip Sheffield's injury to whose your favourite Nexus member I'll just throw mine out there too.

My favourites are Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater and Skip Sheffield(Ryback man!). I think Wade Barrett is a future star but that doesn't mean I like him to much. He's good on the mic though. Otunga, Tarver and Young are ok but nothing special to me.

It hasn't even been a year and already he's injured. I won't be surprised or care if he gets released sometime in the next six months.

I don't like him because he is booked as this serious competitor against the actual roster. How was it he single handedly took out Morrison and Truth in the elimination tag? Its a load of bs, when he could barely beat a rookie in NXT.

That sucks that as soon as his career finally started taking off somewhat, he gets injured. Bad sign for the other Nexus members lol

As I said before, release all of them except Gabriel, Otunga & Barret. I don't Barret should stay, but I know he is being pushed so meh...
