Kaitlyn defeated Tamina Snuka. Kaitlyn won by submission.

(3) Tamina Snuka beat Natalya. Natalya had a totally new wardrobe, including a cape. It looks like she raided Maryse’s closet. It’s more of a “black widow” look for her. The crowd started off pro-Natalya, but rallied behind Snuka. Snuka won with the Superfly Splash. I’ve seen better matches from both Snuka and Natalya.

Smackdown opens with A.J. coming to the ring, and she is quickly interrupted by Vickie Guerrero. Big-time heat for Vickie. Out comes Dolph Ziggler to quite a few cheers. Vickie then slaps A.J., and cue Cult of Personality. C.M. Punk plugs the main event tonight, which brings out Daniel Bryan to a huge chorus of Yes! chants. Sheamus is out next to complete the main event group. The crowd really popped for all four guys during this. The main event match starts now, and A.J. wants a piece of Vickie. Solid start.

(1) Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) & Daniel Bryan beat WWE champion C.M. Punk & World Hvt. champion Sheamus. Entertaining opener with Ziggler pinning Sheamus after Vickie interferes, leading to an A.J.-Vickie brawl. Kane comes out to help A.J., then Punk and Kane and Bryan brawl with Kane chokeslamming both. Great work from A.J.

(3) Beth Phoenix beat Alicia Fox. Layla joins commentary. Squash for Beth, then a stare down with Layla.

The first 3 episodes of the new NXT from Full Sail arena were already taped and the first diva match took place on the 3rd episode and it was Sofia Cortez defeating Paige.

(1) Tamina beat Kaitlyn. More competitive than your average Divas match and Kaitlyn looked stunning in-person.

(2) Sofia Cortez beat Natalya via count-out. Natalya refused to compete and turned heel on Cortez after the match. She beat her down and applied the Sharpshooter. Sofia tripped both entering and exiting the arena.

Episode 4 [7 overall]

(1) Raquel Diaz beat Paige. Paige got a huge ovation from the males.

Now that that is out of the way, I'm extremely happy that WWE is putting Sofia and Paige on the NXT roster, what appears to be full time. They are the two best women in FCW right now. Both could be called up to the main roster and fit in perfectly with the other Divas. I'm a little disappointed that both took a loss in this set of tapings.

I'm extremely happy for Britani...........She is one of the nicest wrestlers that I have met. She deserves to make it VERY big.

Yeah I am happy Paige has has two matches out of the 7 tapings there have been however she needs to win because 0-2 is some bullshit!

Bryan calls out Vickie Guerrero. Says he is holding the show hostage until she comes out. Bryan and AJ have a dueling Yes chant until Vickie comes out. Bryan says he wants AJ banned from ringside during WWE Title match at Money in the Bank. But Vickie reveals a WWE.com poll that says AJ will be the guest referee. Bryan chants NO as he leaves.

* Backstage, Daniel Bryan tries to get on AJ’s good side and says he knows a doctor who could help her because that’s what people that care about each other do, they help each other. She says yes, yes, yes.

Alicia Fox and Kaitlyn defeated Beth Phoenix and Natalya. Not much crowd reaction to the entrances, but pretty decent reaction to the ring action. Fox and Kaitlyn won via a nice classic small package by Kaitlyn on Beth Phoenix.

1st Episode [Episode 8 overall]
(3) Raquel Diaz beat Audrey. This match was awful. Diaz botched her Gory Bomb so badly that they had to re-shoot it. There was a loud "You can't wrestle" chant.

3rd Episode [episode 10 overall]
(1) Paige & Tamina beat Caylee Turner & Kaitlyn.

SmackDown Spoilers: July 20th, 2012

The Peep Show was up next. Christian came out. He said that bizarre was taken to a whole new level, then showed a recap of Daniel Bryan and AJ on Raw. Bryan and AJ entered. Bryan held the ropes for her. The wedding planning is apparently going well, then we saw a clip of them planning. It was delightful and silly.

Christian asked Bryan if he was sure he was doing the right thing. Bryan said yes. AJ said she has forgiven Bryan. Christian asked if this was true love. They said yes, then the crowd chanted yes.

Christian asked the crowd if they should get married, which they chanted a yes/no mixture for. Christian asked the crowd if they thought Bryan and AJ knew what they were doing. They answered with yes/no. He asked if AJ knew what she was doing, she slapped Christian.

They went to leave and Christian announced that AJ has a psychotic ex that Bryan would be facing right now. Cue Kane to enter for a match…

Kane defeated Daniel Bryan (w/A.J.) by DQ. A.J. tried to interfere, which led to Bryan being disqualified. After the match, A.J. nearly kissed Kane, but she declined doing so. Bryan and A.J. kissed on the ramp in front of Kane. This could be the start of a program.

Audrey Marie defeated Tamina Snuka via pin fall after Tamina misses the Superfly Splash. Raquel Diaz comes out after the match and cuts a promo saying “NXT doesn’t need athletes, it needs Divas like her” then continues to mark an L on Tamina’s forehead with lipstick.

* Kaitlyn comes out for commentary. WWE Divas champ Layla defeated Alicia Fox. Back and forth match. Fox kicks Layla’s bad knee, knocking her off the second rope. She uses a one legged Boston Crab. Layla comes back and nailed the Chick Kick for the win. After the match, Kaitlyn and Layla enter the ring and have a staredown. They shake hands. Eve Torres comes out and raises both their hands as they are confused.

1} Yeah NXT is pretty great.

2} I didn't know that. Poor Layla. At least she won here although I expect Eve to win the actual title rematch.

3} I'm pretty sure it is their first one on one match. The only other match where they really got time to battle each other was a 2009 SD Triple Threat involving Mickie James that was won by Mickie after she stole Beth's win [Beth hit Nattie with the Glam Slam].

Speaking of Beth/Natalya I don't have much info on how long it was or how Beth won but I do know she got a great reaction because apparently it was taped in her hometown or at least near it.

I was at First Niagara last night and thought I’d give a few details.

First any person who claims to be a Diva fan NEEDS to see the Beth/Nattie match.

Before I get into that, Eve/Layla [taped for Superstars] was good, but unfortunately the crowd wasn’t really into it; some even started doing the”wave” during the match.

I don’t know what to say about the Beth/Natalya match, other than it was probably the best Divas match (equal parts technical wrestling and crowd involvement) that I’ve seen since Trish/Lita at Unforgiven. Natalya had a very loud reaction coming out. Beth’s reaction, if possible, was even louder than at last year’s Night of Champions. Hopefully WWE won’t get heavy handed with the noise-editing. Nattie was clearly the heel in this match and that’s established early on by her actions. I’m trying not to go into too much detail because I’m not wanting to take away from the match, but there were a few near-falls, attempts at both women’s finishers and a awesome move involving the top rope.

Now for the important part, lol. The match itself went over 5 minutes… in fact, with the exception of the main event, it was the longest match taped for SmackDown. That’s not even counting a segment with Eve that happened post match, nor a segment with Beth backstage.

Eve contended that someone stole her iPad, sent the email, and is framing Eve. Booker then set up a triple threat match for the Divas Title at HIAC: Eve vs. Layla vs. Kaitlyn. He also announced a tag match between the four for tonight

* Divas champion Eve & Aksana beat Kaitlyn & Layla. Kaitlyn took the pinfall when Layla accidentally hit her with a kick intended for Eve. There was tension between the faces leading to the three-way Divas Title match at HIAC.
