It's no secret that a lot of us here at IGN love superheroes. As the superhero revival keeps on a rolling, with new movies, cartoons, and games ever in the works, it's only natural that our love for video games and our love for all things super should collide every now and then.
Now is one of those times. With Pokemon Black and White having been on store shelves for almost a month (and a mysterious new Pokemon title for Wii in the works), it got us wondering which of our favorite tight-wearing heroes would be the very best Pokemon trainer.
That's where you come in. We've picked three members of the Justice League of America (sorry, Marvel fans), hypothetically gave them a color-coordinated starter, and briefly profiled their strengths and weaknesses as a trainer. So read on, then complete our poll, and voice your opinion on which of these heroes has what it takes to become Pokemon League Champion.
Hero: Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Starter: Oshawott
 Not only is Batman the World's Greatest Detective, he's also one of the best tacticians out there. How else could one man with absolutely zero super powers manage to defeat super villain after super villain alongside the likes of Supes, the Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern? This knack for strategizing should make him a pretty brilliant Pokemon master (after all, if anyone can figure out and master EVs and IVs, it's him). Still, good ole Bruce isn't exactly great with the warm and fuzzy stuff, which might make it a bit difficult for him to develop a relationship of trust with his Oshawott. It also doesn't help that he'd probably despise that sweet, little otter and his big, goofy smile. Just saying.
Hero: Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Starter: Snivy
Hal Jordan is arrogant. In fact, he may be the most arrogant hero out there. It's one of the things that distinguishes his story from a lot of other super heroes, and it's a quality he shares with that smug little badass, Snivy. With their smug smiles and affinity for the color green, these two would make a pretty powerful duo, assuming they can put their egos aside and learn to rely on each other. The greatest Green Lantern of them all also has amazing willpower, which can't hurt. Of course, the fact that Lantern isn't exactly one for calculating his moves ahead of time could be his downfall. It also doesn't help that any trainer who came along with a cuddly, yellow Pikachu would destroy him (okay, okay, we realize the Green Lantern Corp is no longer weakened by the color yellow, but come on, we had to go there).
Hero: Superman (Clark Kent)
Starter: Tepig
Everyone loves Superman (except Lex Luthor, of course), so no doubt his bond with his Pokemon would be stronger than any of the others. Kryptonite and magic (his only weaknesses) wouldn't really be a problem either, as his Tepig would be doing all the battling for him. Then again, none of his powers would be helpful either, unless he gets frustrated and shoots some eye lasers at his poor, unsuspecting opponent. But that would be cheating, which Supes would never do, so it's a moot point anyway. He also probably has all the knowledge in existence about Pokemon battling on the Kryptonian MacBook his birth parents left him. Still, if he gets too into the battle and gives his Tepig a nice, friendly pat on the back… well, let's just say his career as a Pokemon trainer might not be a very long one.
