why isnt Halloween important to people anymore?

It's a trend ive been noticing for the past few years. Not everyone decorates their house for the trick or treaters, there arent a lot of trick or treaters around to begin with, and not to mention, on TV, horror movies are barely being shown except for the same shit on Syfy, Chiller and FearNET. Bring back the Halloween i used to celebrate!

ABC family shows halloween movies. and FX
USA is showing Drag me to Hell.

then there's the scary movies that come out in theaters every october..like paranormal activity 3

most people think it has negative connotation: worshipping satan
others think it's pointless: dressing up and candy- basically aimed at kids.

i love halloween. i'll be dressing up with my daughter this year.

i dont count movies that come out in theaters because they usually come out towards the end of the month. channels like AMC used to have Halloween and Friday the 13th marathons all the time the entire month. ABC Family doesnt show horror movies, thats childrens flicks

1 - People are crazy. These few crazy motherfuckers ruin good fun for everyone else.

2 - Not personally atm, but others are don't have a lot of time to spare. So Halloween is just another day.

3 - Personally, holidays like this one aren't as fun as they were back in the day. Aside from the movies and candy... meh! If I wanted, I could make Christmas Halloween if I wanted.


It just isn't as enjoyable, simple and plain.

dEAD, i AGREE! Halloween used to be the shit! We used to pass out tapple apples and the kids LOVED IT!! But npw the kids come to your house early as hell, some of them aren't even dressed, and then they get out of a car. When I was trick or treating, we used to have to work for our candy. This new lazy ass generation has ruined what used to be an awesome holiday.
