WWE Smackdown on Friday, November 18 leading to Survivor Series scored a 1.99 rating, up slightly from a 1.95 rating on Nov. 15.
Dating back to September 23, it marked the ninth consecutive week Smackdown has scored at least a 1.93 rating, topping the yearly average of a 1.92 rating.
Friday's Smackdown averaged 2.9 million viewers, the same as the previous week's show. It was right at the yearly average of 2.9 million viewers.
-- On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #9 in overall viewers, #4 among males 18-34, and #3 among males 18-34. Smackdown faced unusually tough competition from ESPN's Friday Night Football, which featured the #2-ranked team in college football, plus the consistently strong "Gold Rush" show on Discovery Channel.
-- Despite the overall rating increasing slightly week-to-week, Smackdown took some hits in the key male demographics, likely due to the football game. Smackdown was down two-tenths of a ratings point in m18-34 & m18-49 and one-tenth of a ratings point in overall adults 18-34 & 18-49.
The only demographic that showed an increase was among teen males 12-17, which came back slightly after a drop-off last week when Nickelodeon had an original movie on Friday night.
Despite the week-to-week declines in key demos, Smackdown was still within the yearly range and well-above the same period last year when Smackdown was in its first season on Syfy. | |
