Knockouts Champion Gail Kim has officially broken the record for single longest Knockouts Championship reign.

Marking 190 days as champion today, Gail surpasses Madison Rayne‘s 188 day reign to take the crown for single longest title reign.

Kim returned to TNA after three years in WWE last October, quickly winning the Knockouts Title in her very first pay per view match at November’s Turning Point pay per view, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Awesome Kong — Kharma in WWE — still holds the record for longest reigning champion in history; her two title reigns rank at a combined 347 days. Madison Rayne comes second, logging 299 days as champion over three title reigns. Kim now ranks third with 275 days as champion between her first title reign in 2007 and her current reign.

Kim was of course the very first Knockouts Champion.

In hindsight, it seems quitting WWE and returning to TNA was the right choice indeed.

1st question: Possibly. Depends of if the Wrestling Observer is right, or not.

2nd question: Gail's close to retiring, so Angelina's record is safe.

3rd question: If the Wrestling Observer is right, we know who the writers want to take the belt from Gail.

By Wrestling Observer being right or not are you talking about Melina possibly going to TNA?

I think if Gail has another reign she could very well beat Kong's record of most days as champion. I mean the difference between them two is less than 100 days and Gail's current reign is still going on so it will only be less by the time she loses the belt.

I think Gail will probably drop the belt at Slammiversary against Velvet or Brooke.. I wish she could drop it to Sarita or a debuting Melina but I predict either Velvet or Brooke will win it next.

And yeah I don't really see anyone beating Love's record of most times as champion except maybe Tara who is at 4 reigns atm. It is pretty crappy because a lot of women in TNA really should have 1-2 less reigns than they really have due to TNA's horrible booking.

Well, considering Angelina's treatment for the last year (She's become 2008 Victoria), I can't gripe about her at least having a record that's going to be hard to break.

And yeah, if that rumor is true and Melina is coming in, you know she'll have the belt almost immediately. It's just a question of if TNA can spend the money it would take to get her.

I'd MUCH rather see Melina beat Gail than Velvet or Brooke.

Similarily, I would much rather see Melina defend against: Tara, Madison, Sarita, Winter, Angelina, Mickie, etc than Velvet or Brooke.

So personally I really hope Melina comes sooner rather than later!
