- TNA Impact on Thursday, May 2 averaged a year-low 1.10 million viewers, according to TVBytheNumbers.com.

Impact was down 11 percent from an average of 1.23 million viewers last week. Overall, Impact has averaged the four smallest audiences of the year the last four weeks.

The previous low before this week was 1.06 million viewers on October 4, 2012 up against NFL Thursday Night Football.

Caldwell's Analysis: No quarter-hours yet, but it appears that the big angle at the end of last week's show involving Sting returning to re-join forces with Hulk Hogan turned away viewers. Or, the number of viewers driven way were not replaced by enough new viewers. TNA needs to be building for the future, but Spike wants older stars to be featured, so TNA continues to be married to the '90s. Or, on the heel side of the ledger, as long as a derivative group, Aces & Eights, remains a centerpiece act of the company, TNA is going to struggle to draw in viewers.

TNA Impact on Thursday, May 2 scored a 0.94 rating, down from a 0.97 rating the week before.

It was the lowest rating of the year and lowest non-holiday rating since October 11, 2012.

TNA Impact on Thursday, May 2 officially scored a 0.94 rating off a first hour 0.91 rating and second hour 0.97 rating.

It's the first time this year that the second hour of Impact did not top the 1.0 mark. The second hour did contain the peak rating, though, of a 1.06 in the fifth quarter-hour.

Impact followed a pattern of starting slow in the first hour, building to the peak rating in Q5, declining in Q6, rebuilding in Q7, and finishing with the second-highest-rating of the show (0.98) for Sting vs. Matt Morgan in the main event.

First Hour Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a now-typical weak rating in the first 15 minutes of the show, scoring a 0.85 rating for Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Matt Morgan setting up the main event, plus one commercial.

Q2: As the audience slowly started "finding the show," Impact increased to a 0.91 rating for Chris Sabin's in-ring return in X Division action, one commercial, and Aces & Eights backstage.

Q3: The audience continued to "find the show," as Impact inched up to a 0.93 rating for Rob Terry vs. Joey Ryan & Robbie E., one commercial, and a tag team division talking segment involving Aries & Roode, Daniels & Kazarian, and Chavo & Hernandez.

Q4: Impact reached its first-hour peak with a 0.95 rating for the second-half of the tag division promo exchange, video packages, and ring introductions for the main event. There were also two full commercials.

Second Hour Break Down

Q5: Impact got its usual top-of-the-second-hour bump with a 1.06 peak rating for Kurt Angle vs. D-Lo Brown, Angle calling out A.J. Styles, and one commercial.

Q6: After the Angle-Brown match, Impact nosedived to a 0.91 rating for Angle confronting Styles, Knockouts tag match ring introductions, and one commercial.

Q7: Impact was essentially even with a 0.92 rating for Gail Kim & Tara vs. Taryn Terrell & Mickie James, one commercial break, Aces & Eights backstage, and main event ring introductions.

Q8: Impact increased to a 0.98 rating for Matt Morgan vs. Sting, one mid-match commercial, and a post-match run-in between Sting and Bully Ray.

they could probably use some fresher storylines.

I agree with Mia they need some fresh new Storylines because besides the aces and eights storyline and the whole AJ thing I don't even know if there are any Storylines as it is.And Why Is Sting getting a title shot do really need him at his age becoming a world champion.
