In an example of Social Media Activity often-times not matching TV ratings, WWE Smackdown on Friday, May 31 was flat in TV ratings and viewership despite a 20 percent increase in social activity.

Smackdown scored a 1.85 rating, essentially even with a 1.86 rating on May 24.

Smackdown averaged 2.413 million viewers, down two percent from an average audience of 2.465 million viewers the previous week.

It was the smallest audience since the March 15 episode, which averaged 2.395 million viewers.

- There was very little cable TV competition on Friday night, but Smackdown only managed a #5 rank in overall viewers, #4 in males 18-34, and #3 in males 18-49.

Smackdown showed a one-tenth increase in males 18-34 and a slight increase in males 18-49, but the show was down one-tenth in males 12-34 and down five-tenths among teen males.

- Looking to last year, Smackdown's "Summer Holiday Swoon" began in mid-June. This year, the swoon started earlier in mid-May. This week last year, Smackdown averaged 2.626 million viewers.

Last week's WWE Smackdown on Friday, May 31 skewed to an older audience of 51.1 years-old.

Smackdown's median age was actually in the middle of Syfy's range last week - the oldest-skewest show on Syfy was 57.7 years-old and the youngest-skewing show was 38.7 years-old.

Also, Smackdown broke down with 63 percent males and 37 percent females. This was in-line with the Memorial Day Raw episode.

- Smackdown grew steadily throughout the show until the seventh quarter-hour. The show increased from a 0.52 rating in Q1 to a 0.62 rating in Q4, peaked in Q6, and declined in Q7 and Q8.
