TNA Impact on Thursday, June 6 scored a 0.91 rating, up one-tenth from last week's year-low 0.83 rating.

Impact featuring Jeff Hardy's TV return and Rampage Jackson's TV debut averaged 1.1 million viewers, up about 100,000 viewers from last week's viewership, which was the lowest in three years.

Impact went head-to-head with the NBA Finals Game 1, which averaged 14.2 million viewers. The NBA game was down 17 percent from last year's Game 1. Last year this week, Impact scored a 1.02 rating and averaged 1.34 million viewers against Game 2 of a more-watched NBA Finals series.

In the key demographic ratings, Impact was flat with last week's show. The overall ratings increase likely came from the audience outside of the 18-49 demographic. As we documented earlier this week, the median age of Impact's viewing audience is nearly 50-years-old.

We will have quarter-hours and more ratings information next week.

6-6-13 Impact Ratings Up Slightly Empty

Last week, we published overall quarter-hour TV ratings for the June 6 TNA Impact episode featuring Rampage Jackson's TNA TV debut and Slammiversary PPV fall-out.

PWTorch has received minute-by-minute and additional quarter-hour TV ratings for the key demographic of males 18-49, which captures the widest range of TNA's viewing audience. All ratings & viewership references below are for the m18-49 demographic to avoid redundancy.

- KEY SEGMENT: Rampage Jackson's TV debut. Rampage's debut was positioned in Q5 at the top of the second hour, which only registered a slight bump compared to the previous quarter-hour.

The segment only registered a slight bump due to a weak second-half of the quarter-hour. Impact returned from break at 9:59 p.m. with 228,000 viewers. The audience grew to a peak of 301,000 viewers at 10:04 p.m. when the Jackson-Kurt Angle confrontation concluded.

After a commercial, the second-half of Q5 only reached as high as 228,000 viewers at 10:11 p.m., dragging down the 15-minute block in Q5 to an average of 231,000 viewers.

Rampage Timeline: 228,000 viewers at 9:59 p.m., 259,000 viewers at 10:00 p.m., 277,000 viewers at 10:01 p.m., 285,000 at 10:02 p.m., 301,000 at 10:03 p.m., and 301,000 at 10:04 p.m..

- Notably, viewership for Rampage's segment was topped one quarter-hour later when Impact was watched by 328,000 viewers at 10:28 p.m. and 322,000 viewers at 10:29 p.m. This was for a backstage Knockouts segment and ring introductions for the Knockouts match.

However, no portion of the Knockouts match of Mickie James vs. Taeler Hendrix topped the pre-match activity. Peak viewership was 291,000 viewers at 10:35 p.m. for the conclusion of the match.

- The TV main event of Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray in Q8 was flat compared to Q7, mainly because the audience was slow to gravitate to the match. It took until 10:56 p.m. for the match to top 300,000 viewers. Then, the match built to a peak of 351,000 viewers at 10:59 p.m.

During the over-run for the conclusion, Impact scored 361,000 viewers at 11:00 p.m., 374,000 viewers at 11:01 p.m. (most viewers of the show), and then were was a drop-off to 324,000 viewers for the Hogan-Bully-Brooke show-closing backstage segment.

Main Event Timeline: 285,000 viewers at 10:45 p.m. for the start of the match, 290,000 viewers at 10:46 p.m., drop-off to 274,000 viewers at 10:47 p.m., return from commercial with 238,000 viewers at 10:51 p.m., 250,000 viewers at 10:52 p.m., 294,000 viewers at 10:53 p.m., drop-off to 272,000 viewers at 10:54 p.m., 294,000 viewers at 10:55 p.m., 303,000 viewers at 10:56 p.m., 323,000 viewers at 10:57 p.m., 325,000 viewers at 10:58 p.m., and 351,000 viewers at 10:59 p.m.

- During the first hour of the show, peak viewership was for Joseph Park getting beat up by Devon. At 9:35 p.m. during Q3, Impact was seen by 335,000 viewers. This was one of only four minutes during the first hour to top 300,000 viewers.

It was the most-watched minute of the show until the conclusion of the Hardy-Bully TV main event.

Quarter-Hour TV Ratings Break Down

Q1: 1.08 overall (0.36 m18-49)
Q2: 0.92 overall (0.40 m18-49)
Q3: 0.89 overall (0.40 m18-49)
Q4: 0.83 overall (0.37 m18-49)
HOUR: 0.93 overall (0.36 m18-49)

Q5: 0.91 overall (0.37 m18-49)
Q6: 0.90 overall (0.43 m18-49)
Q7: 0.91 overall (0.42 m18-49)
Q8: 0.92 overall (0.44 m18-49)
HOUR: 0.91 overall (0.42 m18-49)

SHOW: 0.92 rating (0.40 m18-49)

Caldwell's Analysis: Interestingly, Q5 featuring Rampage Jackson's TV debut scored the second-lowest quarter-hour rating of the show among males 18-49. As discussed above, though, Rampage's five-minute segment fared well, and the follow-up segment dragged down the quarter-hour. Meanwhile, good news for Impact is the m18-49 audience held up well during the final 45 minutes of the show, culminating with Q8 being the highest-rated segment of the show. It's the Jeff Hardy Factor combined with Bully Ray being one of, if not the top heel in wrestling right now.
