http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Godzilla-Launches-Its-Viral-Campaign-38454.html

Just in time for this year's Comic-Con, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have launched the start of a Godzilla viral campaign. The studios have set up a website at GodzillaEncounter.com, which currently features photographs of two news stories about possible Godzilla-related instances. You can read the first story above and read the second below.

It was around this time last year down in San Diego that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures first officially announced that they would be bringing Godzilla back to the big screen. The lights went dark in the famous Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center, and a video played showing a destroyed city. The voice of Robert Oppenheimer, the scientific director on the Manhattan Project, roared through the speakers, as the scientist recounted a line from Hindu scripture - "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds" - in reference to his work on the atom bomb. As the video ended the hall was filled with the unmistakable roar of the king of the monsters. It was right then that we knew a new Godzilla movie was right around the corner. The studios then debuted the first teaser poster for the movie - long before the start of production.

Godzilla will be reliving Comic-Con memories next week as the film is set to be a key part of the lineup shown during the Warner Bros./Legendary panel (not to mention the fact that the town has literally been painted with its marketing). Other films confirmed to be showing off the goods include Seventh Son (which we just saw the first trailer for earlier today), 300: Rise of an Empire, Gravity, and The Lego Movie. At this time we don't know who among the filmmakers and the cast will be present for the panel, but at the very least we can expect Bryan Cranston - who will be a part of the Breaking Bad panel on Sunday - and Aaron Taylor-Johnson - who is part of the Kick-Ass 2 panel on Friday. It's also possible that we could see director Gareth Edwards and stars Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, and/or David Strathairn. Be sure to come back and check out all of our minute-by-minute coverage during our live blog!

There isn't really a plot synopsis for the film currently available, though the blurb about it in the Comic-Con schedule says, "An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence." The film is currently in production and will be in theaters on May 16, 2014.
