National Wrestling Superstars kicked off their final double-shot weekend of May on Friday night May 29th at their regular Bergen County, NJ stop, Ridgefield Park's Knights of Columbus Hall. It was a light Friday night crowd, but it should be noted that two towns over, a show with 20 more names and 20 times the payroll drew less, a testament to the NWS and its fans, as the NWS wished it were bigger, but those who came were enthusiastic, and had a great time.

In a tag-team opening match, Boris Nobika & Blade Michaels (with manager North Korea's Comrade Chow) defeated Jumping Joey Janella & The Illegal Outer Space Alien. The brawlers Boris and Blade were too much for Janella and the Alien, who, despite putting up a good fight, were defeated after a double facebuster suplex on the Alien.

NWS Cruiserweight Champion Mighty Mikey Pacifica retained the title against former champion J.D. Smoothie (with "advisor" Danny Demanto). The match was originally signed as a non-title match, but Smoothie seized the microphone and proclaimed that since he never got his return title match after losing the title two months ago to Pacifica, he wanted a title shot tonight. Pacifica, never one to back down from a fight, agreed, and it became a title match. The two men, no strangers to each other, tore into one another from the opening bell, with Demanto staying on the outside and never missing an opportunity to get a cheap shot in on Pacifica. Smoothie almost won the title when Pacifica attempted a sunset flip on Smoothie from outside the ropes, but Smoothie held Pacifica down by holding onto the ropes (and Demanto's hands) as the referee counted, but before he reached the count of three, the bell rang and the ten-minute time limit had expired. Pacifica asked for five more minutes, and while Smoothie was getting advice from Demanto, Pacifica dropkicked Smoothie into Demanto, then rolled him up from behind and got the three-count.

In a Luchador-style tag-team match, Kash Ramirez & Fuego Calderon defeated Manuel Manny Moore & Los Luchador #1. The match was all over the ring, and ended with Ramirez leveling Los Luchador with a flying dropkick and covering him for the three-count.

The Nigerian Nightmares (with managers "Voodoo Woman" Black Sheeda & "advisors" King Rama-Lama Ding-Dong Idu Stinq & Danny Demanto) defeated Nikko The Monkey Man & Botchagalup The Banana Boy (with manager Brooke Carter). Before the match, Demanto announced that he was trying to remake his image by helping the up-and-coming Nightmares to greatness, and showing he could manage from the outside without getting involved. The as-yet-undefeated Nightmares turned out not to need any help, as this pair of 300+ pounders easily dominated their opponents, finshing off Pacifica with a Nigerian Roll followed by a double splash, which was mercifully followed by a three-count to end the match. Demanto said that he had kept his word and not interfered in the match... until now, and called out his buddies from the locker room to continue the beatdown on Nikko & Banana Boy. Their attack was thwarted by the appearance of former WWE stars The Patriot and Hardcore Bob Holly. Holly challenged Demanto to a match later in the evening, and Commissioner Moore was only too happy to oblige, also announcing that NWS Heavyweight Champion Corey Havoc, who had joined in the beatdown, would be facing The Patriot in a non-title match later on as well.

During intermission, TNA Knockout SoCal Val was on hand to greet the fans and sign autographs.

Kami Albano (the niece of former WWE hall of fame manager Captain Lou Albano) and the members of the Community Living Center of Bedford Manor, NY (which provides housing services to the mentally challenged) presented plaques of appreciation to former WWE & WCW star The Patriot, NWS star "The Adjuster" Dr. Lamar Braxton Porter, and NWS ring announcer Johnny Falco, for their continued support.

In a non-title match, former WWE & WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot (with manager Brooke Carter & members of the Washington Heights, NY chapter of the Guardian Angels) defeated NWS Heavyweight Champion Corey Havoc (with manager King Rama-Lam Ding-Dong Idu Stinq). The newly-crowned champion Havoc put up a good fight, but was clearly out-matched inside and outside the ring by the veteran Patriot. The end came after King Stinq attempted to hold Patriot against the ropes for a splash from Havoc, but Patriot powered out and Havoc collided with his manager instead. Patriot then chokeslammed the stunned Havoc and covered him for the three-count.

Former WWE star Hardcore Bob Holly (with manager Brooke Carter) defeated "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto. Demanto was reluctant to get in the ring with Holly, but the two eventually locked up and commenced a hard-hitting brawl. At one point, Demanto claimed a knee injury to halt Holly's momentum, only to attack Holly (with two apparently healthy legs) when he turned his back. The veteran Holly would come back to overpower Demanto, and put him down for good with a spinning Alabama Slam.

NWS completes their double-shot weekend Saturday night May 30th in Flemington, NJ.

NWS will be taking off the month of June so their fans can enjoy all the weddings, proms, graduations, and other early Summer weekend events. NWS will return to action with a stellar lineup of shows in July and August. For details on the summer events, follow NWS on the Web at www.nwswrestling.com.
