Dolph Ziggler has been compared to

Both Billy Gunn/Mr Ass and Mr Perfect. Who do you guys think he reminds you of? I can see the comparisons to both of those guys actually. Maybe this Generations Mr Perfect? Except that he will actually win the WWE Championship

Comparing him to Billy Gunn is pretty stupid, considering it was only done because of the hairstyle. Its near obvious that they are making a Mr.Perfect out of him. His theme is 'Perfectious...' What more indication is there? :P

Me looks like Billy Gunn but Mr. Ziggles reminds me of Rick Rude.

He's a mix between the two, however his outfit at hell in a cell was very revealing on his um.... you know

Billy Gun with the hair and Rick Rude with the outfit style

Billy Gunn dosnt get enough credit in my mind, but yeah it seems like hes getting compared to these people because of his hairstyle haha
Ziggler is a great talent though and has one of the most promising futures in wrestling today.

How insulting to Dolph if people are compairing him to Billy Gunn.


Umm.... I like the Curt Henning comparsion. Not Mr. Perfect. But Curt Henning of AWA teaming with Big Scott Hall. Just an really likeable guy who wants to fight for justice, peace and the American way. haha

Last I check, Dolph was a heel though.

I dont see the Mr Perfect connection outside of his theme music.

But his mannerisms and how he takes that vest off....It just reminds me of Rick Rude.

I know Right? Billy Gunn was a fantastic talent in the WWE! I would think comparing Dolph to him was a compliment but I guess not lol

Billy Gunn invented and perfect the "Shelton" or "McCool" push of not matter how hard the want to push, not matter how many character changes, no one will EVER give a flying duck about them.

Man him and Road Dogg were big when they were in DX. If anyone denies that then they must not have been watching because they got major pops. DX wasnt just HHH and HBK, like they'd have you beleive today.

i agree with Brad Ass and Dogg where IMO THE tag team of the attitude era.
hence why on the first SD game they never lost their tag titles in season mode, unless you played physically against them

I dont know if it was just me or not but Gunn was very good but he was really only a tag team specialist and didnt have the whole package to pursue a major singles push honestly, and Vince didnt want to push him. He got the IC Title as compensation but that was pretty much it (hardcore doesnt count since he was still in the NAO's and DX at the time).

Road Dogg had the hardcore title in DX

Billy Gunn got it later down the line in March of '99 and (correcting myself from my other post) got it one more time during his "The One" Billy Gunn gimmick which he got after RTC took the 'Mr Ass' from him hahaha

i tend to forget about that stupid gimmick, lol

I definitely see Mr. Perfect in Ziggler, his theme Perfection by Cage9, that alone tells us they are trying to make another Mr. Perfect like character out of him. His confidence, his cockiness, all point to Perfect; "I'm the best, no one can beat me, I'm just simply perfection." That sounds like Mr. Perfect.. his looks are comparable to Billy Gunn's, and his motion with his abs, can be compared to Rick Rude.. otherwise, besides his outfit, I don't see a hint of Rude in him.

It's kinda a blend of Rude and Perfect some would say, but I definitely see more "Perfect" attributes radiating from Ziggler more than Rude attributes.

I think it's a merger of the two prior gimmicks.

Isn't that the truth. Dx was Chyna, Road Dog, Billy Gunn, X-Pac, HBK and of course Hunter "let me weasle my ass into my buddy Shawn's click cause I got no personality of my own, and one day I hope to get into the bosses daughters pants" Helmsely.

HHH doens't hold a candle to the way Road Dog used to do the intro's.

To me, Dolph Ziggler resembles Nicky from the Spirit Squad.

Personally, I believe Curt Hennig's Mr. Perfect gimmick was weak and I don't really wish to see Ziggler pushed as the next Mr. Perfect. I doubt that Ziggler will hit Main Event status because I think the 'Perfection' gimmick will grow stale.

If I were WWE management, I would give Ziggler a partner with a gimmick to match Ziggler's and have them run for 4-6 months before splitting them up, tweaking Ziggler's gimmick and elevating Ziggler.
