Top 10 most overrated wrestlers of the last 10 years

The purpose of this thread is to identify the 10 most overrated wrestlers of the last 10 years...i.e., 1998 to the present day. Whatever your defintion of the words may be, please list your choices in descending order, with #1 being the most underrated/overrated of the bunch.

Important: Please explain your choices, so as to actually initiate conversation. This leads to my next point, which I will explain in bold all caps:DO NOT MAKE THIS A LIST THREAD, i.e. just writing down 10 names without elaboration. It's lazy and annoying. This is a discussion forum is it not? Have fun.

Just wrestlers because the divas will takeover this topic if we do divas. I'll even create a Diva one for you guys

I guess I'll start! I will do this one at a time because there are so many wrestlers, I just have to narrow it down.

1.Rey Mysterio - I really liked him in WCW(What little I did watch) He just OWNED the cruserweight scene with his style. I can say I was a fan of his work back then. His WWE work however is average at best. Sure every once in awhile he'll have a great match (see John Morrison) but all in all I'm not really liking Mysterio these days. He had a WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP REIGN! I really hated that because it took Eddie dying for this to happen. Lets be real people. Ever since I just think haven't liked him and he is way to overrated on the net. Just ugh!

2. Batista Lets face it, he's a botchfest. He's pushed over for his size, as was Goldberg. And he really needs to stop wrestling before he gets a hernia. I'm amazed by how stupid the bookers have been with him. Just Fire His Ass before he gets the World Title back...

LMAO Each person names 10 superstars KJ, I am choosing to do one at a time. Batista is on my list though.

10. Samoa Joe - The fact that he cannot work well with guys who AREN'T going to bing around like a tennis ball for him is always overlooked.

9. Shelton Benajim - If he was destined to be a "big" star, he would be one already. And it's not like the guy hasn't been given chances to make it.

8., 7., & 6. The Whole Damn Hart Dynasty - Family Name =/= Worth a damn. The only one in that group that has improved and showed potential is Kidd and he isn't technically a Hart. The have had matches to show how they just aren't that good. They have had promos to prove they shouldn't talk. Yes, I just called Nattie a man for you new comers.

5. & 4. Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin - Hey, I think Alex was incredibly funny when he worked with Nash. However, these two couldn't define spot monkey any more if Matt Striker said they coined the term. Neither can't throw a strike to knock out a fetus.

3. Christian - For someone who gets such *amazing* praise, he was never was a real big name for the WWE. On top of that, his current role comes off as embarrassing to me when he shows up on Raw and the crowd goes into "Who the fuck?" mode. lol Plus, I really REALLY hated how TNA pushed as if he wasn't 6' and a couple of bricks heavier then a couple of bucks.

2. Carlito - Lazy douche. Scratch that. Lazy whining baby. He comes across as someone who doesn't want to wrestle.. Either by scared of getting hurt or realizing he just isn't good. When he does try moves that require more skill (he used to do some spring board moves), they are painfully slow and forced. Take you choice.

1. CM Punk - I just don't get it. When he is doing flashy moves, it comes off as weird to watch. He really hasn't show any real atheleticism since coming to the WWE. It could be the irony that someone who Straight Edge'd has something short of a beer gut and looks like a junkie.

He was whining and crying on iMPACT! because he got put in a stupid TNA gimmick match. Yeah, what an exclusive club.

anyway someone im gonna put on my list, sorry i cant think of 10 and rank them, but i think looking off Rey being listed, i think Eddie was slighlty overated. I never got it with him, i never saw him as ME material, so him beating someone who basically squashed someone like The Rock and Undertaker ie Brok Lesnar just didnt go.

Jeff Jarrett-used power and father's controlling interest of NWA to hold the NWA Title 6 times, one of those being a year-long, and cause other guys to stagnate on the roster

HHH-average wrestler who got to the main event via The Kliq and getting into the McMahon family...literally

Brock Lesnar-got pushed and pushed and pushed then his character played itself out then he left

Batista-completely talentless, got where he was cuz he got tight with HHH and Ric Flair

Ric Flair-needed to retire years ago but kept himself active and thus took the spotlight off other guys who needed it

John Cena-good guy, crap wrestler who got where he was because he is a diehard company man

Goldberg-nice guy but his gimmick was what made him, not his skills

Kevin Nash-keen business intellect with charisma and the ability to talk got him further up the ladder than he should have

Stone Cold Steve Austin-character died when the McMahon feud died, and thus became pointless

Hulk Hogan-the epitome of overration, his knowledge of the business (with McMahon jump-starting him off) is what got him to the point where he's at, and actually managed to score creative control, something he will use to put many a man down over his career.

Jeff Jarrett - he was pretty much doing nothing in WWE but singing, or hitting ppl with a guitar. his IC title reigns were...meh to say the least. his WCW run was a "omg hes in the main event already" not even a year after being there again. his TNA run...he pretty much didnt prove anything cause he was the damn owner of the fucking company.

9. Shelton Benjamin - he had it, then he lost it when his work ethic went south

8. Batista - a boring, muscleheaded powerhouse who has his 3 moves of doom. spinebuster, shake the ropes....BATISTA BOMB!!!! thats so much fun!!!

7. Rey Mysterio - he gets his ass kicked time after time, only to be the hero and beat the big guys. it gets boring and repetitive after a while, his WCW run was amazing when it was believable....then he goes to WWE and wins the fucking World Heavyweight Title cause Eddie died? gimme a break

6. Triple H - hes only in the spot hes in, because if the Kliq and hes banging Stephanie

5. Hulk Hogan - what a worthless piece of garbage, he doesnt put ANYONE over and he still thinks its 1985. newsflash Hulkster...Mr T. isnt in your corner anymore

4. The Rock - sure he had the mic skills, and sure he was over as a mother fucker...but he oversold half the damn moves he ever took. sure its good to make them look believeable...but damn man..you dont have to flop around like a fish outta water when you take the Stunner

3. Lex Luger - see the Rock. he oversold pretty much everything

2. Jeff Hardy - this spotmonkey is high on my list for several reasons. he has NO mic skills, NO wrestling ability whatsoever...and the only fucking thing hes good for is jumping off a ladder. if he didnt do that, he wouldnt be as popular as he is today

1. John Cena - THE MAN WITH THE 5 MOVES OF DOOM!!!!!! hes boring, repetitive and he sucks. "you're going to war with me, i never quit"...hes been saying those sayings since 2006...fucking BORING

He did way more than that; the four moves were what ended the match with the 100-score moves he did before the four were designed to all lead to the Sharpshooter. Its called ring psychology; Cena has his five moves....and thats it. Massive difference.

He sold it for 20 minutes, again what the fuck are you talking about. TRY to make sense when you are criticizing a wrestler.....wait, wait, wait...wasnt that the match where BRET was working over Shawn for pretty much the entire match until the miraculous ending where Shawn nailed him with a superkick that somehow completely destroys the guy who'd been kicking his ass the whole match (sold as such). Like that ending was realistic, only reason it was believable at all was becuase Bret sold it so damn well

#5-Jack Swagger-I dont get the hooplah around him either. Hes a good wrestler, but everyone goes on and on about how hes going to be a big star. Hes boring in the ring and on the mic. Again like the other 4 I dont get the appeal over him. I dont find him that good looking either.

#4-The Miz-Hes over hyped. Hes not that great in the ring. Hes not even funny. Hes annoying as heck. Yeah Thats his job as a heel but its one thing to be a good heel and another thing to be annoying. Hes ANNOYING. I dont get the hype around him either.

#3-Batista-BORING. Hes had too many title runs, all his title runs have been borefests. When hes on the mic, I get the urge to sleep. Hes not that good looking either. I dont get whats so "great" about him. He needs to retire.

#2-Randy Orton-I feel hes pushed becasue of his name and good GQ looks. All he does are Headlocks, Punt and RKO. Everytime he talks I almost fall asleep. This guy is so boring. I dont get the hype over him. I dont think hes all that hot. He looks like one of those body builder guys who over do it.

#1-Jeff Hardy-He has no wrestling skill, no mic skill and all he does are spots. Hes only popular becasue little kids think that is so cool and its not all that cool. I also dont think he is all that good looking. Yeah I used to like him but that was before he became so overrated.

10. Marcus "Buff" Bagwell - Buff Bagwell seemed to have everything needed to be a superstar in the wrestling industry: he was fairly charismatic, had solid mic skills, was well built, and could work a decent match.

9. Greg Gagne - There is no denying the fact that in terms of technical wrestling, Greg Gagne was one of the best who ever lived.

8. Jeff Jarrett - The sad thing is that as much as Jarrett is pushed, the fans never bought Jeff Jarrett as a main event, championship caliber wrestler.

7. Bill Goldberg - No wrestler ever received a bigger push without paying ANY dues in this business than Bill Goldberg.

6. The Big Show - Should i explain?

5. Hulk Hogan - It is blasphemy to many fans to ever put Hogan on a list of this nature given that it's not deniable that Hulk is both the greatest face and biggest draw in the history of the business.

4. Kevin Nash - No wrestler has ever been more politically astute backstage, and benefited more from his stroke than Kevin Nash.

3. Sid Eudy - Call him Sid Vicious or call him Psycho Sid, but either way, this guy is almost a textbook on how stupidity can ruin a career.

2. The Ultimate Warrior - Jim Hellwig (and no I will not call him by his legal name of "Warrior") is a textbook case on how arrogance can ruin a career.

1. Lex Luger - Lex Luger could have been a legend in this sport. However, his lack of effort and respect for the industry have left him a physically broken down and forgotten has-been.

Batista. He was a decent wrestler for his size, but five fucking world championships is taking it too far. I enjoyed the days he was losing to Maven fairly, and getting his ass kicked by Edge and Jericho.

John Cena. Seven world championships already in his young career? Seriously, its a joke. The rock won seven over about a 8 year career, and John has won seven in three years, and considering his career isn't nearly over yet (unfortunately). He is so boring on the mic these days, and I can't stand listening to him. Overacting much?!

Rey Mysterio. Okay, you want him to win the rumble?...Then at least don't put the fucker in at number 2! And a world championship, even adds more to the joke. He couldn't even be inserted back into the cruiserweight division after that because he was deemed 'too good' for it. And he doesn't like putting people over either. He has defeated Kane, Edge, HBK, Jericho, JBL, Batista, etc fairly...But Kane?! Seriously? How you can go from defeating the greats to losing to Chavo is rediculous.

Hulk Hogan. Nuff said. Worst wrestler EVER.

Jeff Hardy. Sure, due to being insanely over he should get a world championship...But three? Especially after he failed numerous drug tests.

CM Punk. This guy was okay competing for the ECW title, but how he jumps to the World title and gets three reigns is rediculous. He isn't that good.

Triple H. Thirteen world championships, need I say more?

Randy Orton. This guy just has way too many championships so early in his career. He is good, but he isn't a great wrestler.

The Miz. Why is this guy getting this uber push all of a sudden? He is somehow able to defeat Mark Henry, Jannetty and MVP fairly these days? What a joke!

Mick Foley. He is a hasbeen, and should never have won the amount of world titles he did. He was a sloppy wrestler, and was only good in hardcore matches.

The Miz- He is an awful worker, I don't care what any of his fans say. He is an ok mic worker. But let's be serious...if the man would of never been on The Real World, the WWE would of never of randomly signed him. There are hundreds apon thousands in the Indy scene that would be a better selection then he was.

CM Punk- Fuck that shit he did with Joe in ROH. Hell even I was impressed with that. But alot of his fans bring that up, to justify how great he is. Your in a new company, so try to impress me. I do think he a great mic worker, and not even a bad wrestler. But he is no wrestling god.

Jeff Hardy- Nothing but a spot monkey. People only cheer him because they like his look, or they love that he takes crazy risks. Other then that...what does he got? He isn't that great of a straight out wrestler. And his brawling looks silly. Oh and never give that man a mic.

Ted Dibease Jr.- Still early for him. But again it's the IWC that turned me against this guy. Yeah sure he has the look of a star. But I am sorry, his in ring work has not impressed me...and he's even worst on the mic. Atleast Cody is an ok worker...and semi decent on the mic.

Jack Swagger- Nothing this man has done, has impressed me. LOL at the people comparing him to Kurt Angle. Awful on the mic, nothing makes him stand out with his wrestling either. He's completely lame

Mr. Kennedy- I remember everyone was marking for him (Well the IWC lol) back in the early stages of his WWE career. Since his time being there he has shown me nothing. His mic skills aren't shit to me. He is a ok worker...but I never understood all the hype of him.

Jeff Jarett- When TNA had it's eariler years, he was no different then WWE's Triple H. Always holding the titles. But atleast unlike HHH, he tried to make his opponents look good.

Ric Flair- Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of his. But I am sorry I do not think he is the greatest of all time. I mean sure he had some classic matches...some even in my top 20. But him wearing the title as many times as he did was ridiculous. I feel that they did have enough talent to pass the title around, but he seems to always be wearing the belt which gets old. And he repeats alot of the same moves. One of the greatest, but not the greatest in my opinion. Oh and his real ego, makes me think that he is overrated. Dissing guys like Bret Hart and Randy Savage...men that gave me a hell of alot more memories then he did.

Lex Luger- When I was a kid, I was a fan. But now looking back at his actual work rate...it's horrible. Repeats the same moves, and again it just looks fake when he trys to attack. Many people could argue about Hogan's work rate...but atleast he had ring psychology which made up for that.

Batista- He is a horrible wrestler. His selling is awful...his moves look fake. He is also horrible on the mic. What I can't understand is how the fuck did Cena recieve all that heat, when Batista is a million times worse.

Triple H- A good worker, but not to the extent they pushed it to be. Tell me this, name me 5 HHH classics that don't invole any special stipulations or more then one person? He fucked his way to the top, and I will say that without a second thought. He fucked Stephanie...was tight with HBK and others...and they helped him get to the top. Which is something I think HHH himself will never admit. The asshole doesn't even try to make his opponents look good, yet he is always made to look like a million bucks.
