Layla Appreciation Thread

I love Layla, she is my absolute favorite! She has continued to improve and her wrestling is different from the other models. I especially love how she uses ring psychology, that right there sets her apart from the other “models” I mean you have Kelly Kelly being nothing short of a spot monkey, Maryse thinking to much about her character instead of her wrestling, Maria being one of the weakest divas (wrestling wise) when she should be at Michelle’s level considering they both started around the same time. My point is that Layla goes out there to wrestle and I don’t think folks appreciate her as much. She is never pushed to the moon (she deserves at least one lengthy push if you ask me) She never wins a match (unless it’s a tag match). I used to think WWE didn’t appreciate her but I since realized that they do. She has been paired with Michelle McCool. Some may think that’s a bad thing but its not, she gets screen time. She gets to wrestle divas that can teach her to get better. I think Layla’s time will come really soon. Age to me is not a factor, She is one of the oldest and looks like one of the youngest. I as a fan have nothing to worry about when it comes to Layla if I’m being honest. She is not at the top of the food chain when it comes to priority like Michelle, Melina, Mickie, Maryse, Beth but I don’t think that Layla is at the bottom either. I just wanted a appreciation thread for my fave diva lol.

Layla is really the ONLY Diva to get ring psychology. She knows how to tell a story by selling, making goofy faces and doing little things. She doesn't try to substitute it with flashy moves with a high botch possiblity.

She also holds one of prettiest take downs, that cradle/hip toss counter thing, I have seen in a while.

The only diva to get psychology? I enjoy her work but let's get serious. She's only shown a minor grasp of psychology with knowing to do leg and arm work. She uses facials and vocals too which are admirable, but still only show a limited amount of psychology, and if anything just shows a love of acting.
Maryse has shown more of a grasp of psychology with chickenshitting, especially in that 8/15/08 tag match with Maryse/Nattie vs Mccool/Maria. She also has shown use of limbwork too. And Mccool's shown a great grasp of psychology in picking apart body parts. Beth, Melina, and Mickie have shown more grasp of psychology than most of the male roster.

However, this is an appreciation thread. I do look forward to her matches each week much more than girls like Alicia or Kelly. Kelly's a spot monkey with four spots that she does extremely slow. Alicia does 2 moves a match and bumps the rest of the match despite being a heel and taller than most of the girls. Layla on the other hand keeps the Torrie Wilson, Stacy Kiebler, Dawn Marie approach of keeping it simple and working a bit of psychology into matches. She knows she's nothing great, but she uses that to her advantage by making full use of what she has instead of trying too hard and botching every step of the way and being a spot monkey. And she adds more than Torrie or Kiebler by using over the top facials and being super vocal. She's a fine little jobber.

like everyone says she keeps it simple, that their deserves imo more appreciation then its getting

yep other then Vickie, Steph and Gail *two of which non-wrestlers* she is the oldest, making her the second oldest active wrestler, Gail is 33, Layla is 31 and then the next batch are Melina, Mickie and Rosa all 30

Layla is honestly so attractive to the point where it isn't even funny. She really is a natural beauty and has her own unique look. I see Layla improving on her wrestling which I love, because she is one of those models turned wrestler that I actually like. I hope she keeps improving and gets her own push, her playing McCool's sidekick is just awful. I do appreicate Layla indeed.

She's my second favorite as far as current divas, and while many will disagree...I think she is miles better then Maryse lol.

ppl to me seem to overate her character, when in all honesty i think both girls show just as much character, although to me Layla shows something a little more, Maryse has her hair flip and her little hand thingy, thats all i see from her.

I went back and forth with Layla, hated her in the diva search but then she ended up growing on me, she was improving in the ring and I just loved watching her. When she was managing Regal I thought she was pretty useless and basically turned my attention to other divas but she's doing much better on SD and I'm back to loving her again. The girl will just keep on improving and she's definitely attractive like whoa!

Her cheekbones are so suckable. What a sight. And I don't think anyone here has a idea what ring psychology is. Diva matches with ring psychology? Only Natayla is involved in those. Layla has great heel charisma and her facials are some of the best in women's wrestling..Shimmer and TNA included. And she doesn't botch, which is something you can't say for Melina, Beth, Kelly Kelly, Maria, or Rosa(who is doing fun character work right now).

Add me to the "Layla is better then Maryse" bandwagon. Lets face it shall we? Both ladies had their best matches with McCool. However I enjoyed Layla's match with Mickie far more then I enjoyed Maryse/Mickie. I also enjoyed Eve/Layla wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more then I enjoyed Maryse/Kelly. Layla>>>>>>>>>>>>Maryse!

Layla only had a decent match with Mickie, they didn't seem to have much chemistry, Maryse/Mickie was HORRIBLE so I do agree with that. Also agree with Eve/Layla over Maryse/Kelly

i think Layla and Mickie had good chemistry, once again the problem is that the match followed the similar formula to most of the diva matches heel starts off with some strikes, and spends the next 90secs being squashed.

Eh, Maryse just came back and they rushed her back. SHe couldn't even train much due to her injured leg over the past year. You can't really compare the two as Layla wasn't doing anything when Maryse was at her pique last year, and Layla's just now piquing when Maryse was injured this year and just came back after being rushed back. Give Maryse a few months before you compare them.

i think some people need to learn what the word useless means! when layla was with regal she wasnt useless, she was just being used poorly! useless means they cant do anything good, or be of good use!

Layla has never been useless since she got there, she has made WWE money with modelling TV appearances, she can also be used for dance segs and stuff as well as mic things....Layla did something managin Regal, she threw a shoe at CM Punk, had mixed tag matches and LLOOKKED HOTT

Other things I appreciate about Layla:

- She doesn't mind making "ugly" faces to make people laugh.
- She's an inspiration to short chicks everywhere.
- She moved to California to train at EWF.
- She has an exotic accent.. Even though British people disown it. haha
- She's a company player.
- She follows the ameuter wrestling rule of staying on your toes when pinning someone to apply more pressure. Thus, she has some technical wrestling knowledge
- She looks fantastic in skin tight black leather pants

Layla is SUPER HOT. The face and body that would make a man do bad things to get even one date. The plus is that she's athletic and actually grasps what wrestling is about unlike Maria and some of the other forced divas. Plus just look at her, there is a God:

Well Maryse vs Mickie wasn't anywhere near as bad as her haters are claiming in this thread. Reminds of me of all that nonsense said about Katie/Mickie at Night of Champions 2008 where Katie put on a wrestling clinic that a Randy Orton can only dream of attempting.

Layla doesn't wrestle all too much and when she does, it looks right and doesn't look fucked up and contrived like Kelly Kelly and those other overpushed idiots on Raw.

I love Layla, I think she is so beautiful and hot and is plays her character really well, with her mannerisms, facial expressions, her yelling and complaining and etc... are priceless. I like her bumping and selling, she really has improved in the ring her moves are simple but nice at the same time. She's a great dancer too and I love her entrance and theme song and looks great for her age.

I actually made Mickie/Melina appreciation threads in the past. Its something I do when it comes to mind so yea lol. Dead doesn't appreciate hotness LL, dont you know? Now we are marks because we appreciate everything Layla does? What the fuck ever!
