Notes On Errors On Commentary During WWE TLC PPV

Ryan Bychkowski sent along the following: I'm watching WWE TLC right now, and unless I'm mistaken, I'm pretty sure I just heard Matt Striker say "it's been 20 years since Texas has seen an Intercontinental title change". What short memories they have. The IC belt changed hands earlier this year in Houston at Wrestlemania 25 when Rey Mysterio beat JBL. Plus, there have been a few other IC title changes in Texas in the last few years too.

Ryan also sent this one in: "The last time a WWE Champion was born from outside of the United States...16 years ago...Yokozuna". Are they serious? Do the names Bret Hart or Edge mean anything? This commentary has been nothing short of abysmal tonight.

The Intercontinental bit was unforgivable.

The WWE Title may have meant to have been the first outside of North America. Amazingly, a lot of people think Canada is part of the USA. I know a lot of people who think Canada is an American state.

Most of them are thick as two planks btu it doesn't change the fact that many people believe that Canada is part of the USA.

They know Washington D.C. is a city. Whether or not they think D.C. is a state I don't know.

Striker is/was absolutely horrible last night... am I the only one who wanted to put him through a table?

I'll catch commentary screw-ups sometimes, especially when they are just way off. I remember just before the Hell in a Cell PPV, Michael Cole said that there had never been a tag team Hell in a Cell match before (I guess DX vs. McMahons and Big Show doesn't count), then Lawler said DX had never teamed up before in a Hell in a Cell match, and they kept repeating it for the entire segment. Stuff like that that seems like it should be common knowledge for someone who was working with the company when it happened and yet they get it so obviously wrong makes me want to pull my hair out when they continuously repeat the same thing over and over again and it's not even close to being right.

Minor historical things like when they say a title hasn't changed hands in a certain city for X number of years or something like that doesn't really bother me if they get it right or wrong, but when the commentator can't even recall a match he called less than 3 years earlier and insists it never happened, that bugs me.

Also, for someone to email a spoiler site just to say that, they are an idiot, just enjoy the damn PPV, any commentator is prone to mistake easily.

Seriously who cares enough to stop watching the ppv to email a spoiler site?

Those guys who sent that in was right... Striker was fucking up left and right. Take for example when he said that "TLC" is an anual ppv. How the fuck is that, when that one was the very first one? Who's to say that it'll return next year?! *facepalm*
