| Subject: Tori...what could have been... Wed 16 Dec 2009, 2:47 am | |
| I've always liked Tori, I knew she was capable in the ring...she always looked like a wrestler but it was not until recently that I realized just how incredibly underrated she was in the ring...Maybe it comes with the name as Torrie Wilson is another underrated one. But I digress, the girl was really solid and could have been a huge name if handled correctly, she had all the tools to be "The Golden Girl".
She came in against one of the most over Divas ever in Sable and she got over. WWE pushed her before they wanted to because of Luna's suspension but because of her talent, "plan b" worked. Her pops were not crazy big but she connected with the fans. And she did this on her own, she came in as her own character, she didn't come in as a valet to an already established guy like most at the time. Her ring work with Sable & Jacqueline was some of the best at the time. She & Ivory didn't have the best chemistry but their intensity with each other made up for that (IMO). With Ivory as the champ and contenders like Jacqueline, Luna & Tori; why WWE choose to push Moolah, BB & Miss Kitty...I'll never know.
So with the division in the shitter, tossing her on the arm of Kane and (later) X-Pac was a great idea. She was able to utilize her impressive mic and acting skills, charisma, sex appeal, versatility, damn near flawless bumping/selling and how effective she could be as a valet. She played a huge role in the The Kane/X-Pac feud and I think it's fare to say things would not have went over half as well with out her. Same could be said for the DX vs Dudleyz feud. WWE considered a Tori/X-Pac vs Eddie/Chyna feud (which I would have loved to see) but that was dropped and she was left in limbo. What I'm getting at is, she was a relatively big name for a second and it would have made perfect sense to transition her back into the ladies division after her split from X-Pac, especially since they didn't follow up on their break up. They teased us with her pending return via Tough Enough and The Mystery Ninja Angle but nothing came of either and her career came to an end.
I don't think WWE ever really used her properly as a wrestler. Don't get me wrong, Tori had her flaws in the ring. She moved a little awkwardly, appeared kinda pigeon toed sometimes. Then because of injuries and the physical transformation she underwent between her time as "Terri Power" and "Tori", she had to change her ring style up a bit. Not to mention the ring rust she accumulated in the 3-4 year span were she didn't wrestle between LPWA/Japan and the WWE. And by now we all know how the ladies had to "wrestle down" below their real levels back then...but I'm rambling.
Tori had a lot of positive attributes...great size & presence, great facials...she was really strong & innovative. She wasn't given a whole lot of ring time but she was dishing out power slams, different suplexes, counters, technical work, The Tori-Suplex...a far cry from clotheslines & hair tosses we were use to seeing. She had a whole ton of moves she used regularly in LPWA & Japan that we never saw in the WWE...things like German Suplex, Full Nelson Bomb, Superplexes, Powerbombs, Samoan Drop, Unique Submissions, Oklahoma Slams, The original b***** Clamp before Jazz & Beth...all of which she still could have preformed. Wrestling skills never really seem to determine pushes in the WWE but the girl was very solid in the ring and one of if not the best in all other categories. WWE missed the boat with her.
Thoughts? Yes I got this from somewhere else so uh thoughts?

| Uhm you guys realize you don't HAVE to read what he types. She was pretty cool in my book, and for someone who was working in GLOW she really took to Japan like a pro, despite the stiff style. | |

| I liked Tori, I personally though she retired too early but it was her decision to so do so more power to her. I loved her feud and obessed fan storyline with Sable, I did like when she returned as the masked ninja girl who kept attacking Molly Holly on Sunday night heat | |

| I really liked Tori during her time in the WWE. Her matches with LPWA are pretty good as well. It really is a shame that she got pushed to the side so quickly. | |

| All i know she was sent down to development and was braught back in this Ninja character, similar to how WWE used Shantelle Taylor before her release and well Tori suffered that same faith. It was the kat who pretty much closed the doors on wrestling, asked a good amount wrestling websites (example Obsessedwithwrestling) not to feature her photo in her profile. It was like wrestling was dead to her and it never happened. Tori continued after WWE a little before retiring i believe. She didn't wrestle much after though, not more then a year for sure. | |

| from what i know she opened her own Yoga place or something. and i liked the Kat, although i missed her right to cencor thing, them firing her was just really random, when they where in the middle of building a Kat/Ivory feud sure she was a sucky wrestler and prolly one of the worst ppl to hold the womens title, but she was fun to watch her v Terri was full of win as far as im concerned i really wanted to see a Tori Lita feud | |

| How can The Kat be one of the worst?
They gave it to Debra (although i understand why..but was still crazy) and Candice Michelle?? The Kate looks like a good choice compared to those two. So she's got a few girls who's worse then her

| That was bullshit how debra won that match!!! SABLE WAS ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway Tori was F'N AWESOME! She had a very unique finisher, and she could take an ass whooping like a champ, that girl was put though tables, tombstoned, chokeslammed, and everything else, and her stint with DX was great, she just fit so well with them, and I LOVED her match with Sable, I liked the way she counter the Sablebomb, oh and she whooped Alundra Blaze's ass during her earlier years, she even won some title from her. | |
