This yearly tournament is held to determine which woman had the most significant year, according to her accomplishments, improvement in wrestling skills and character portrayal, and how the fans perceive her, regardless of whether or not booking favored her.

AWESOME KONG’s 2009 Highlights:
- held the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship until April 19, 2009
- teamed with Sara del Rey to challenge for the Shimmer Tag Team Championships unsuccessfully
- feuded with Tara for the latter half of the year, culminating in a cage match which Tara won



TARA’s 2009 Highlights:
- was a one-time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion, and is currently the #1 contender
- defeated Awesome Kong in a six sides of steel match at Turning Point
- reached the semifinals of the TNA Knockout Tag Team Tournament

I got to give the edge at the end of year so far to Tara who added another Knockout Title reign to her career. She had a absolute amazing run in TNA since jumping over from WWE. I think eventually she is gonna have a downfall because she is gonna focus on her MMA like Bobby Lashley.

Going with Tara myself! Defeated both ODB and Angelina for the ko's title and beat Kong in a cage match, hell she holds victories over Alissa and Hamada. Tara FTW

I went with Tara as well. Just like Blue said, she had victories over some of the best at TNA, Beat Kong in that cage match and won the KO title twice.

Tara. Kong has had a pretty weak year compared to her last few.
