| Curious minds here want to know! Lack of ratings? The owner at the time? Went bankrupt? Hogan? What could they have done to prevent it? | |

| i would of ran it differently. WCW had some great talent, but it was ran like the old ECW, if you don't show up, it doesn't matter, if you smoke dope, it doesn't matter.
WCW should of had better booking.

| In all honesty after reading Bischoff Book his was probably right What Killed WCW was no one from Time Warner wanted to be involed with Wrestling and the person who they replaced with the guy who ran it knew nothing about wrestling and bought into what Vince Russo was spitting on how he made WWE what it was. When it Orginally started the only one who cared about it was Ted Turner and He had one guy on the board. Before the merger the one guy on the board mainly left and Ted Turner was merged with Warner Cable and a bunch of people running the company wanted nothing to do with wrestling at all. | |

| bad booking, bad ratings, bad matches. overall no one was paying to see the crap, hence TNA is doing the same thing | |

| on top of that, they allowed top wrestlers control over their careers which led to many guys stagnating on the roster. CP stated the ultimate reason that put it under, Dead got everything else and a bag of Doritos lol TNA is following close behind them, making similiar mistakes | |

| I really liked WCW in its hayday. I really beleive the ultimate problem was the higher ups ripping creative control and funding away after the AOL Time Warner merger. Im not saying there wernt other things done wrong, cause brother there were, but I think thats what really did them in. | |

Ratings dictate for almost two years, WCW whooped that ass. If WWE were better, that would've never happened. They got better LATER when they had to be because they almost got put out of business.

Seriously, can't get any worse than that. WCW was never PG They were never officially PG but towards the end of Bisoff's reign the big wigs at AOL Time Warner wouldn't let him do alot of the racier ideas he had to compete with DX, and they censored him alot and went above his head. When WWE was doing their craziest sex and violence storylines Bissoff was leashed and tied down, but still expected to compete. It didnt make sense, therefore it failed.

| old hasbeens like Hogan, Nash etc were dominating the World title picture. they had a lot of new talent and they just weren't doing anything with them. Jericho jumped ship because he was really sick of how he was being treated. when he came to WWF his feud/partnership with Chyna and respect for his in-ring skills made him very popular. also a lot of the older stars booked themselves in matches hence the Fingerpoke of Doom where Nash just laid down for Hogan and the value of the title going down | |
