| Some say Cena is overpushed but he's extremely over, makes money and was getting good reactions so they pushed him up the card in 2005.Makes sense.
In 2003 Cena didn't even win on PPV against guys like Lesnar, Taker and Angle but he got more and more over thanks to his rapping skills/mic time.
So he didn't really get forced down throats. Fans chose and turned Cena face just like Austin/Rock.
Some say Edge is overpushed because of his World Title reigns. Anyone here agree? disagree?
I remember in 2003 some smarks saying "Legend Killer" Orton was overpushed because he was going over guys like HBK but heatless and was in a World Title match that year too.
Another guy is Lesnar.I remember in 2002 some people thought RVD was screwed and Lesnar had no business conquering a top spot soon.
Even though Lesnar was AWESOME, he got chosen by creative and wasn't getting much reaction until he fought Hogan/Rock.
Watch his match with RVD from King of the Ring and then his match with Rock from Summerslam. He's actually over against Rock and a part of that is cause smarks in New York knew Rock was losing/leaving again for Hollywood.
Recently Sheamus is called overpushed by some and it's understandable.
He gets no reaction without Cena around and he's WWE Champion.
I've seen some say Kofi is getting "forced down throats" but he was getting Kofi chants and nice pops when he retained the U.S. Title. Of course he started feuding with Orton. Why not?

| I dont think Edge is overpushed at all. I know he has a lot of title runs but most of them were cut short, due to them wanting to give it back to Cena or Hardy or injury. What Edge needs is a very long WHC title run. I dont think Cenas overpushed either, face it he sells merchantdise, puts butts in seats, and is very entertaining. I dont think Kofi is getting to be overpushed, I dont think Randy will put him over for some reason but Randy should put Kofi over. Kofi is getting a good amount of reactions. Overpushed is superstars and divas being shoved down our throats all the time and others not having a chance. Espceally when they cant wrestle very well. | |

That's fucking John Cena.
He's overpushed, selling merchandise or not, he's still shoved down our throats CONSTANTLY. |

| Cena is THE definition of overpushed. Selling merchandise and being over doesnt mean he can wrestle. using the same 4-5 moves isnt wrestling. | |

| Overpushed is a wrestler gettting put over a ridiculous amount of times regardless of talent and ability. You can be talented and be overpushed. You can be talentless and be overpushed. WWE has a bad habit of seeing someone get over put the whole marketing team behind them and once they do that, if the person doesn't have what it takes to keep the train running, people see that the person isn't as good as they thought he was. Cena is a perfect example of that. Yes, he's selling like hell but remember that CHILDREN and WOMEN are the ones that buy into his shit. The Rock, Hogan, Austin: all three of those guys had solid charisma that they were over with EVERYONE. Cena doesnt have that yet they kept pushing him after he was exposed. Their excuse? Money. Edge was a bad example of overpushing considering that without him, SD! wouldve been in the pits a LONG time ago; he and Vickie were what kept that brand alive at a period of time when it was just absolutely lacking.

| Triple H definitely. from 2002-2006 any time he didn't have the title you knew they were just letting someone else have it for a couple of months so Triple H wouldn't be having ridiculously long title reigns which he still had
Jazz i would say as well. she got her title after only four months in the company and received her push after only two months. then she got to go to WrestleMania and she undoubtedly would have had the title even longer had she not been injured. then she comes back in 2003 and gets the title when there are plenty of other girls who are more deserving like Jacqueline and Ivory who both lost their final titles in humiliating ways

| Pro wrestling is about two things : 1) Characters that 2) make money.
Cena makes a shit load of money for the company. People want to buy tickets for shows he is a part of. Kids want the blow up plastic hand or whatever that thing is. Is he known for doing a 48178816 moves in a 5-35 min match? Nope. Same with other cash cows for the WWF/E (Hogan, Razor Ramon, Bret Hart, HBK, Diesel, Taker, SCSA, The Rock, Lita, Trish, etc.)
So, for me, being overpushed occurs when someone is given at least a month of promos, matches and segment and still not a peep. I call severe cases called "McCoolism". i.e. Michelle McCool

| Actually, Bret made his name off being able to do multiple amounts of moves in a match and pull them off seamlessly-he was one of the rare top talents that actually EARNED his position through respect and actual ability | |
