| Is The Rock A Legend?During his six year's in the WWE, The Rock became one of, if not the most popular wrestler of his time. He is a seven time WWE Champion, his interviews and skits and fondly remembered by the current generation of fans, and should he accept the offer is would certainly be added to the WWE Hall of Fame. But there is one burning question, although the Rock is well remembered now, what will the pages of history say about him? The argument against this is that it's arguable that Rocky's ring skills, although constantly improving, weren't amazing (not that it mattered that much during the time, since he was incredibly athletic), his promos, although awesome, often relied way too much on his collection of catchphrases and get slowly repetitive as you start to watch a group of them (which is why I didn't buy his DVD). But ultimately, the biggest concern is simply, he left way too soon, if he had stayed around longer his ring skills might have grown to the point where he would have been one of the best in the world, but because of his movie career we'll never know. The Rock was an unbelievable one of a kind talent, but in jetting off to do movies after a couple of years, he may have diminished his legacy to the point where he might not be considered one of the greatest of all time. Your thoughts? | |

| I think there is no doubt he ISNT. He left his mark on a whole era of wrestling and was involved in some best angles of the last several years, on top of having charisma that puts him in the league of Flair, which I will go so far to say that he SURPASSSED Flair in that department-his success brings credibility to that. | |

| His a wrestling Icon, like Shawn Michaels. IMO, an Icon is bigger than a legend. | |

His gimmick was the first of its kind; there would be no MVP or Mr Kennedy or crowd-aappealing finishing and signature moves (five knuckle shuffle, player's elbow, that shit kofi does with his legdrop) if it wasnt for him

| Is this some kind of a joke? If he's not a legend, then who is? There wouldn't no damn WWE or whatever they want to call it this year if NOT for the Rock and Austin saving them from the downward spiral they were in when Michaels/Diesel/Bret Hart were on top and when the NwO were kicking their asses. Not to mention he's the most influential performer of this era...Kofi/Carlito/Cryme Tyme/Cena/Orton/Cripple H using his catchphrases...all of that shit. Everybody wants to do a fake People's Elbow or Rock Bottom. He is the definition of success from the world of pro wrestling.
They had him kick off the XFL and that was successful upon his appearance but went down when they tried to be serious. He was there side by side with Bill Gates in NY to launch the X-Box. His books have been #1 on the NY Best sellers list. A promo with him got guys like Hurricane and Christian more over than they've ever been in their careers. He made guys like Angle and Jericho credible with WWF audiences when they were lost. Basically took Hogan out of obscurity in 2002 and put him back on the map after that guy was embarassed in 2000 by Russo of all people. There is no one like him and that's why people are often disgusted with Cena. Trying to copy the original and failing so miserably is laughable.

| of course he's a legend. i can't believe he was only in the company six years as it seems like he was always there. he got a show named after one of his catchphrases. he was a great entertainer and one of the best on the mic ever
as for his ring skills, he had about seven moves all in all excluding all his punches, Lita was definitely more talented than him. but he knew how to get the crowd going and was good at selling moves. like Stone Cold he was an average wrestler but had a great character. that's why i think people over exaggerate when it comes to Cena
