I have a virus!

NO! not me personally My computer has a virus so I wont be on as much. I will be using the family computer for a while and knowing my family, I wont get much computer time. So to folks that have had viruses before, do you bring your computer to a special shop or something? Help is needed

you have a virus scan to use that can spot it and tell you what it is.

My computer does not go to the internet at all, my shit is FUCKED! Shops clean them right?

they should a computer place that fix them they can find it and try to get rid of it.

i had a bad virus...so bad that when i took it to Best Buy to have it fixed, they discovered it had "996 trojan horses" on it. It was fucked. the guy in the store even said he had never seen so many trojans on one pc.

took them like a week to fix since it was right before thanksgiving.


you could put virus protection on your pc and that might help..if not..take it to a shop otherwise it will just get worse. I didnt realize i had a virus till the last minute. If I had waited any longer, i would've had to get a new pc.

thats what i have a virus protection program it finds it and lets me know what it is and if it can kill it.

I have a simlar problem right now. I have some virus protection program-Malware Defense and its giving me pop up after pop up and I cant get rid of it.

yea thats sucks when you have that and you cant go in to anything it thinks could have a virus in it.

If you can't get on the internet you'll have to take it somewhere to get it fixed. Luckily for us here, when we have a computer issue my brother works on it. Once you get it fixed though you have to get a virus scan. We have avast on ours.

I still remember when I was younger we had a shitload of viruses on our computer(this was before my brother started working with computers)and we took it to a shop, they said there was nothing they could do so when we took it back home I got desperate and put some kind of disk in and ended up fixing it

yea im very careful with this computer i use to have a lot of virus on my old computer.

I'm way more careful on my laptop though. My pc is old and i will be getting a new one once I get my income tax. i most just use it for GFX or playing games since it has all my games on it.

it doesn't work if the virus infected before that, you can go weeks back though.

yea Geek Sqaud is good, they get the job done.

If you have Virus prtection on. Do a scan, it'll give you waht file is the virus, just delete the file and do another scan, you should be good.

i dont think he has virus protection, if so we wouldnt have a problem but i could be wrong but it sounds like he doesnt.

Virus protection doesn't mean shit in the long run. Viruses still come through, trojans being a prime example of that.

Yeah I suggest Restore.

If not then u can always do a System Recovery but that puts the computer to the factory settings and deletes everything. Programs, Photos, EVERYTHING.

you can backup your important files on a disc or extrenal hard drive, and restore your computer to factory setting. it'll be like new afterwards, and you save yourself money.

dont u have comcast? doesnt that mean u get mcafee or whatever?

quick restore it. its a disk that either comes with the computer or u have to call the manufacturer and order it.

Blue, you could do a full system reset yourself, it'll set your computer back to it factory setting, and you'll lose everything on there, but the virus would be gone and your computer would act as if you've just taken it out of the box, I've fixed plenty of computers this way and I've never had one complaint.
