Who named you? Were you named after someone?

I was named after my mom's favorite tv show.

I'm named after my jackass father, so the "J" at the end of my username is obviously "Jr."

... And it was my mother's bright idea to curse me with such an awful name!

My brother was obsessed with this neighborhood girl and talked my mother into naming me after her

I was named after my stupid asshole dad's two twin cousin's K&K.

My mom told my grandma she could name me.

but then when i was born my mom went ahead and named me after my grandma

my grandma was pissed but eventually got over it

I have no idea who named me or who i was named after but i do know my second name my mom saw it once and it stuck in her mind.....though i hate it

I don't know what I'll change my name to, if I ever do because as much as I hate it; I've gotten used to it.

i was named after the olsen twins on full house. my sister named me, and shes only 4 years older then me. i lucked out cause her name is zena

My mom picked out my name. I was named after a friend of hers and she liked the name Janine, Plus my name is the same as my moms, but the C in her name is an N in mine.

My mother was going to name me Porsha, but changed her mind and named me Lauren after her favorite designer. She use to joke that she got my name from her perfume bottle because her signature scent is Lauren by Ralph Lauren.

Well... my mom was in the delivery room, and her and my dad had no clue what to name me. So when I popped out of my mommy and the nurse asked for my name, my mom looked over at the bed-side table and there was a bottle of 'Keri' lotion sitting on the table. And she said "Oh we'll name her Keri."

Yeah, my older brother suggested it; he claims it was because he knew a girl named Porsha, but he had a thing for the cars back then. I think he was pissed because he was gaining yet another sister and wanted to give her a fucked up name for lulz...but in the end, he gained a little sister who followed him to hell and back and thought he was the greatest thing in the world.

My dad named me after an older rock song.

I just don't care to much for it....or I guess I would say I "hate" it. It's such a pain that people can't pronounce it correctly.

Nah, it's Kayleigh. "Marillion" does it. The album came out back in 85. It's not a HEAVY rock song, it's more of a ballad I suppose. God, that song used to bug the crap out of me.

im like that with my brother, but i was asking cause in spanish class we had to have nicknames and one of them were Mercedes but my friend was like dont name urself after a car cause the jokes would have been endless.

I don't think so either, but I must have gotten every name under the sun, plus more when different people would try to say it. The most common was "Kayla". "LEIGH" does not make the "la" sound, I just never got that with people. I had a teacher that NEVER got my name right the entire year, it was always something different everyday. I never even bothered to correct her after a while, I just responded to whatever she happend to call me.

My brothers named me because my mom was getting me some common names and they want something unique. Hell, i should smack them both for giving me a name that people always misprounce it. They call me Kiara, Kahari or Kiarara. I just tell em to call me by my lastname or simply coco (depends who it is of course)
