Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net is reporting that Ric Flair was initially apprehensive about losing his WWE Hall of Fame ring to Abyss and was reportedly "visibly upset" when told about the angle. Nevertheless, the report claims that Flair agreed to go through with the plan.

if he didnt want to do it, why agree to it? it's a crappy angle anyway. he could've saved us the trouble of having to deal with Abyss and him in the ring together lol

I'm not a huge fan of Flair, but I don't think Abyss deserves it, even if it is just for show.
