present divas compared to past

ok so this is basing it on 2003 when they had the most divas in the company. i was surprised at all the similarities. Gail Kim is not herself since she was heel then

Melina = Trish Stratus:
former valet/eye candy and now one of the top faces of the company. always gets great reactions and works as a face or heel either way

Beth Phoenix = Jazz:
monster powerhouse who is always booked as the aggressor. she kinda fit it more when she was heel but it still works as a face. Jazz as a face would be hard to imagine

Kelly Kelly = Torrie Wilson:
a bit of a darkhorse as she's the most marketable of the divas and she's always there for bikini shoots etc but has some talent in the ring that gets overlooked because of her looks

Michelle McCool = Molly Holly:
best worker on the roster and big powerful heel. Michelle's LayCool gimmick doesn't really fit it as much as her old aggressive heel one but both had really long runs as champion and got little to no reaction

Layla = Gail Kim:
the top heel's gal pal and right hand woman. LayCool is a bit similar to the Molly/Gail tag team what with one being the Women's Champion for a while and the other playing second fiddle. eventhough Layla is technically the champion it's still obvious Michelle ranks higher than her

Maryse = Sable:
pure T&A and their characters are practically the same only Maryse can't go screwing the boss because of the PG rating. their match strategies are basically the same as well: do about 3 moves max and punctuate the boredom with a lot of taunting

Eve = Lita:
promoted as the wild card although she has a long way to go before she's as good as Lita or can get as popular. i'd say Mickie was more like Lita when she was still there but they have been booking Eve as the high flyer and that's one of the reasons she's getting over. Lita did outrank Trish back in 2003 so i'm not sure where Melina will be when she comes back

Gail Kim = Ivory:
always right there when you need her to lead a match and when the top girl needs a partner. with the brand switch now and the girls being divided up Gail is being used more than Ivory was and she's not a jobber

Tiffany = Jacqueline:
same as Ivory although ranking a little lower and on a different show. notice how she always takes the pin in the tag matches against LayCool

Alicia Fox = Dawn Marie:
Alicia has been shown as a bit of a player in WWE what with DJ Gabriel, Dule Hill and Zack Ryder but she is that other heel who is used mainly to make the face chick look better but is still kept credible

Jillian = Nidia:
comic relief more than anything else and pretty much a jobber for life unless she gets a face turn and room to grow. her and Chavo kind reminded me a bit of Jamie and Nidia

Savannah = Terri:
backstage interviewer

new announcer chick = Lillian Garcia:
well duh

Bella Twins = Stacy Keibler:
mostly used for eye candy purposes but wrestle when they are needed. of course they are much better in the ring than Stacy ever was

Natalya = Victoria:
unless she's actually in the title picture she kinda disappears since Victoria dropped off the radar a bit when Molly and Gail started teaming up. Natalya kind of exists away from the other divas like Victoria did in mid 2003

Rosa Mendez = Jackie Gayda:
occasionally wrestle but mostly there to be a valet and look hot (succeeding brilliantly i should add)

Serena = Linda Miles:
i've seen her wrestle and she isn't as bad as Linda was, she's quite good but she is a pretty active valet, definitely always making sure she's involved in whatever her team's up to

sorry no room for Vickie Guerrero or Tamina on here

Once Again Ricky I have to agree with you, especally with Melina-Trish and Maryse-Sable. Those pairs are the most simlar to eachother and for the reasons you said. Good List and observation.

I don't agree with Eve/Lita but figured she'd be compared to her because of that moonsault she does. I dunno, I don't think Eve will ever be that good

Lol definitely true. Maybe she'll be okay with that in a year or two then she'll have another 3 or 4 years to improve more in the ring

well Lita never perfected the skill of jumping out of the ring without half killing herself so it's just something we'll have to accept

Eve will never be Lita...1 moonsault does not an Icon make.

Eve is bland and boring...something Lita never was...not even when she debuted.

Melina = Ivory
She went from being a dominant, strong character heel with a passion, to turning face and becoming rather bland in character.

Beth Phoenix = Lita
The most over face in the company, and the one that is always there to shut up people.

Kelly Kelly = Torrie Wilson:
Agreed

Michelle McCool = Jazz
Has that powerful wrestling style and submissions. Very aggressive in the ring as a heel.

Layla = Dawn Marie
Both love running smack in and out of the ring, and had a similart wrestling style, working on a particular body part, etc.

Maryse = Sable:
Agreed.

Eve = Trish
A huge underdog in wrestling who is just coming into her own

Gail Kim = Herself...

Tiffany = Stacy Keibler
Had a sort of weird personality, and at times was always hard to distinguish with Torrie (Kelly)

Alicia Fox = Shaniqua
A powerhouse in her own right who has a bad attitude, but is good with her kicks.

Jillian = Molly Molly
The most solid worker on the roster, greatly underrated. Can do it all in the ring.

Bella Twins = Noone cares

Lita- Katie Lea- Both choppy akward wrestlers with an akwards style of wrestling.

Michelle - Trish = Overpushed, has been the main fixture in the division for years and well, will be there longer.

Jazz- Natalya= Strong, dominant women. Natalya could make a simple suplex look like it hurts.

Kelly- Stacey = Legs, blond and small boobs.

Layla- The Kat = Although The Kat's post WWE stuff is slightly better then layla's current stuff. None that good in the ring, none will be great. They will both be decent at best.

Maryse- Sable = everyone established that.

Beth Phoenix - Alundra Blayz = Rough, dominant and always comes off looking strong regardless of the match.

Gail Kim - Jumping Bomb Angels = These women braught high flying quick paced matches to women's wrestling back then. Some of their matches with the Glamoure Girls are ranked as some of the best matches in the WWF history. gail Kim brings that same, unique style.

Molly Holly - Jillian Hall = Good, solid, near flawlless
