Any Folklore (traditional beliefs or stories) that are in your family?

no that i can think of but my family isnt that tightknit

only thing that gets passed down is the story of my ancestors who are royalty.

my great great great grandfather was an african prince who came to the US as an exchange student. he married my great great great grandmother who was an indian princess..

I remember you telling that to me once before. I think that's pretty damn AAAWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE. Sorry for the Miz reference. lol

Well i don't think it's anything anyone brags about, but my mom's great, great grandfather, had slaves. Now this is incredibly weird because, well i'm black.

Ironicly only my mom and my two aunts had kids, none of my uncles did. Sooo since my two aunts are happily married and my mom isn't. Me and my brother are the only grandchildren from my grandfather to carry the family name. Which ironicly belongs to white people with light blue/green eye with blondish/burnette-ish hair.

So as we speak, my great, great great grandfather.....is probably rolling in his grave

that reminds me of the first 2 years of my daughter's life. she was really really light skinned. considering she came from 2 black parents, it was amzing how much she didnt even look it.

when talking to my daughter's dad's grandmother, she told me many of his ancestors are white..hence where my daughter's light complexion came from. I think it's pretty cool.

Lol Vix, i was a white/red baby with really really fine straight hair, one haircut and way to many days playing in the sun changed that for me. . I swear i was sooo white, i never believed those baby pictures were truly mine.

My daughter was completely hispanic when she was born and for like the first 2 years. light skinned and straight hair. It looked like she was adopted or i was just babysitting lol

That was basicly me

When i was two, my hair started curling and it used to be long, like shoulder lenght. And my mom used to curl it everytime i took a shower, because it was easier to comb then. Then one idiot in my neighborhood got headlice and i got it and my head was shaved and my hair was never the same again

i remember taking my daughter to the doctor and he gave me a second glance when he saw her..

doctor: you're her mother?

me: yes

doctor: wow...ok

me:

OMG!!! Vix your lived my life!!

Teacher: Kevin Werleman?

Teacher: Werleman? You sure?

Me: Um yes

Mom: Hi

Lady: These your kids?

Mom: Yes

Lol my mom uses these things to her advantages

When we went to the store with my aunt (my dad's sister), when me and my little brother started fighting or being really loud she would be.

Mom: Minerva, your kids, tell them to stay quiet

My aunt was always like , my mom would laugh and walk off
