Want To Be A Pro-Wrestler?

Seeing as how this topic area is filled with random things from the 2012 theory all the way to how I like to cook my eggs...LOL!! Well i thought i'd ask this question. Who here is going to persue a career in professional wrestling? I know i am! I absolutely love the sport and love the environment. When i went to WrestleMania 24 and saw the atmosphere, It really inspired me and now i want to persue my dream. What about you? Are any of you going to persue a career? Tell me why?

I want to be a wrestling valet but i'm not going to pursue it until next summer. I'd rather work the indy circuit than WWE because well WWE seems like a horrible work environment.

Jobber on SD or Raw
Performer on superstars and house shows

I probably could be a wrestler, I love the industry enough where I'd want to be involved most likely in Creative, on-screen personality like an authority figure pissing everyone off . Better yet, a manager, Heenan-style, fuck yeah I could do that. But I never know what road life will take me on.

apparently Orton shitted in some WWE diva's bag. I've heard this from a few former WWE superstars...

of course they could all be lying but either way i dont wanna chance it. i love orton but i dont want him shitting in my bag lol.

i always have said that i wanted to either act or wrestle....but being stuck in England doesnt give me a BIG oppertunity as far as wrestling goes..and now im going to Uni to study Drama, it means the closest wrestling school to me, is further away then it already was now im still living at home

but i intend on bringing home some money for my mum to save up, so maybe i can start training

I use to want to be a Wrestler but than i got in too more MMA so now i want to be a MMA Fighter.

the WWE and TNA look like they suck to work for.

I wanted to be a prowrestler at one point then I went through some crap, trying to get my issues taken care of, and Now I dont think I can. Firstly I dont have the looks they want andd 2nd Im 28 years old its too little too late for me.

But I want to help animals and become a vet tech and own my own animal shelter.

Your not to old Janine, Jessika Haze just started out and she's already 29, so it's never too late. And it's ok, Shimmer is not to high on looks Neither is ROH

Very interesting replies...Wrestling has always been a dream of mine since i was about 7 or 8 years old. And for the person that asked about WrestleMania, It was the most out of body experience ever! I mean your infront of 60,000+ people. From the lights to the fireworks to the wrestling itself, It was indeed amazing. Too bad i didnt get to go to Axxess though. I wish i knew where it was at and i later found out that it was at Universal Studios which was like 10 minutes from where i lived lol.

wrestling has been a dream of mine for like 10 years also
but being in england i had no idea that there was any schools for me...plus they cost so much money

and dont worry Vix...i WILL find a way to get a green card

Back when I was a kid, yea, but then I realized the amout of work it would take, I didn't think I would last.

Plus I'm too old now, I'd be in my late 30's by the time I'd get anywhere.

I'd rather be in creative now, yes I don't have a degree in media or writing, but I love to write, and am very creative.

well if you want to make it in this buisness ie be in WWE as it is considered the top company...30 is a really old age to start at

It take's like two years of training, he'd be 31 (btw happy belated Coyote.)

He'd have to work a side job while TRYING to get employed by an indy company. If he does.. he may never make it big time.

You're best bet is to start young. Because the older you are, the less time you have to get good, get experience, and get exposure before you get too old. When you start out, Expect to spend a few thousand dollars gets trained. If you live in Florida (It says you live in Orlando.), then check out the Team 3D school. http://team3dacademy.com/ A lot of students there get picked up by WWE and TNA now these days.

I would do your research about etiquette and how to present yourself beforehand. Don't expect to make any money when you first start out either. So I would still go to school after high school, and to have a job to support yourself.

Great great points, but I'd say get a degree in college first. I've been doing research off and on for years and many people in and out of the business say the same thing - it's just a safety net because if you don't make it or if you get seriously injured, you'll have that degree to fall back on, and you can venture into a different field. with it.

I actually would love to step in the ring. Physically though, I don't think no amount of working out could get my body the size they want it. I'm kind of petite.

I would love to be a manager of some team. I would love to do it, but I don't know how it would be going into the sport as a gay person. I don't know though. We'll see, but yeah, I would really love to give it a try.

Meh... Remember Kanyon? (Who betta than? lol) He was gay - although he admitted later in his career he was gay.

A couple of years ago this guy, John Amiechi (I think that's how his last name is spelled), a former NBA player admitted that he was gay.

While I'd love to be in pro wrestling, Ive only just started watching and id assume you have to love the sport from the day you were born in order to succeeeed in it. I really do hope that you guys accomplish ur dreams, thats fantastic!!!

I don't know if that's true in all cases. I've heard of several cases where guys got into wrestling in adulthood - meaning became fans then pursued a career - and have had pretty successfull careers. Not all have been transcenders or won world titles, but they've been pretty popular. The most recent examples that I can think of are MVP, Khali, Big show and Hernandez.

More interesting replies. I do plan on going into college right after high school to get a degree in Multi Media. I am really good with computers. And I also plan to train on the side as well. The Team 3D Academy is probably going to be my best option. Either that or the FCW Academy. Its either or, I started training last year but I left that to focus more on school and getting better grades. This year will be my last year of high school so its more of a journey and adventure after that. Dont worry, I will keep posted here and let you all know how everything goes every step of the way. As for the person that said i need to learn ettiquette and how to present myself. I am pretty much a well presented person. I know how to speak in front of people and how to use proper language. I do want to thank you all for the support and encouragement. Also, to the person that wants to start and your in your thirties. You should follow your dreams and dont ever let someone tell you that you cant do something. Ive had that from friends my whole life and I am keeping my head focused and I am going to be On WWE or TNA TV one day. Yeah I know, Thats how the school i was training at is. Its month by month payments. Basically you dont pay you dont train. Also, Training is alot of work. Alot of running and lifting. You really have to be in some good shape to wrestle. Be able to hold and lift your own weight times two. Its aching but in the end its all worth it. Thats what also drives me to work more and work harder.

And again, you're right, it's probably best to survey your option of schools that are out there because this option is there for you. Some give full refunds only in the first two weeks of their courses, which is bogus.
