Backstage News: Vince McMahon's Major SD! Plans, Barrett

Many within WWE's developmental system are raving on the potential and progress of NXT season one winner Wade Barrett. Those affiliated with Florida Championship Wrestling rave about how he continually improves in the ring. They also feel he has the size and promo ability to headline.

-- It's worth noting that the official Syfy website lists Edge, as well as The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Beth Phoenix and Michelle McCool, as appearing on Friday Night SmackDown when the program debuts on the network this October. Regarding Edge, he was originally supposed to remain on SmackDown! before WWE's mentality during the Draft changed to making the RAW brand the company's top priority. A renewed push for the Smackdown brand is expected this fall given that Vince McMahon has predicted with its move to Syfy that the audience for SmackDown! will eventually be as large as RAW's.

I agree Edge and Gail should go to SD. Edge shouldnt have left there in the first place. Now hes being buried on Raw. On SD he can be top heel again and not have people like Miz and Sheamus(no offense to them) stand in his way.

I just think Edge is too good not to be a top heel.

I will love to see another Taker-Edge feud. Their last one was epic.

I dunno its just sad to see him going from top star to basically not a main eventer.

Thats why SD is better for him, where he can be the top star he once was. He still has it and if hes going to retire in a few years he should go out with a bang.

Orton, Edge, Jericho all switch places...its still not being buried

Edge is still relavent and they can still put him in a main event at any time. He doesn't need to be given the Cena and Orton treatment.

id just say the Cena treatment. Orton has stepped out now and again...as early as the last half of 09 and first few months of 10 against Kingston, then Legacy

Still in rather often lol... not as much as Cena, but a spade is a spade.

Meh... SD, Raw then back to SD? What the hell are they gonna do with him on AD that they haven't done before (and on Raw)?

Not even Main eventing
People like Miz and Sheamus being pushed ahead of him. I understand they want new stars but dont push down good talent.


I think hes wasting away on Raw. I dont want to see Edge waste away. Edge has been my favorite for a long time, He deserves better.

Ok, I know you've mentioned long reign before, but how long are we talking?

I too have been a big fan of Edge's for a long while - was hoping back and forth with him and Orton with the #1 spot. Other guys need to get those belts now. You can't compensate for injuries and bad booking in the past.

^Thats true, I was thinking a 5 month run. I just feel bad for him. I love him so much I dont want to see him waste away. I want him to end his career on a high note.

What's important is, I'm Glad they are high on Wade, i like this guy, he has most of the tools the make it far, Like the Canadians, the British also produce some of the best talent on TV.

I can't stand him. His as interesting in the ring wrestling as Drew is. And his voice reminds me of a toilet for some reason.
