Warning!!!: Most Disturbing Picture Book Ever!

OMG I had to post this here since it so crazy!

Here's the most disturbing children's picture book ever. It's called "Alfie's Home" by Richard A. Cohen. It looks like it was written and illustrated by someone on 12chan.

I did not take these pictures nor do I own the book.












Morals of the story:

• Don't trust your Uncle Pete
  
• Only show your kid Dr. Seuss books
  
• You can get out of Child Sexual Assault by crying

Oddly don't find it disturbing, it is good for children to know certain things are wrong and right.

The part that caught my attention was the fact that he was being called names and had no idea what it meant, because it was how it was with me, well not exactly.

I was being called these names, i had some sort of idea what they meant, but i never understood why. At the age of 8/9/10, you wonder what it is you do to trigger people to calling you this name. And i had issues with that growing up.

Someone who was obviously molested as a child, grew up in domestic violence and was confused about their sexuality.

Or someone who had a friend who went through it, or someone who had a 3 friends who went through all 3 situations?

The way i see it, you can round up enough nutcases who could have written this.

I do see Kevin's point as well. This book can be a good educational tool for kids.

I'm with Kevin in that i'm not disturbed by this.

it's informing kids of things they need to know. I know someone personally who was molested and raped and she never knew it was wrong. something like this could've really helped her cope with the situation as a child.

Yeah it is a disturbing issue. This same situation happened to my friend, who was molested by her uncle when she was young. Although she didn't turn gay because 'she wanted male love' I think it was the reverse, where she 'didn't want males altogether' and that makes sense.

I remember hearing a court case about this physical pherapist molesting abotu ten or so boys when they were teenagers, telling them its "normal" I really felt for them, and the emotional scars they carry today.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm actually into guys sexually, or because I'm not too close emotionally with my father, and I always wished I had a brother, that I felt this way. I was always closer with girls than guys at primary school also, so possibly I wanted some affection from men as well. I have even told myself many times that I want to be emotionally connected with guys because I never had a brother to do so with.

Instead of getting help for uncle pete, they should just kill him.

I wouldn't show my kids this, I didn't have to see it to know that's it's wrong. This won't go well with most say, 6 year olds anyways. It's actually disturbing to me just because it's a nasty, embarrassing subject.

I KNOW it's informing of what's right and wrong but kids today would just be to immature to take it in. Kids like to push alot of sexual shit on you anyways like what nasty words mean at a really young age. I remember people around me used to say stupid ass words and when I didn't want any part of it they would obviously assume I didn't know what it ment telling me in kind of a well "DUH, you're suppose to know what oral sex is at 8 years old' and kind of think I was the odd ball because I wasn't an expert on what positions to execute on eachother at 10 like they did. I wouldn't know because it wasn't something I wanted to talk about or should have been around at that age. That kind of stuff should be tought gradually at a mature age and kids learn shit way to early now because of all the trash they're around, their shit upbringing or their parents.

Also, they never really stated what happend beween the parents and the uncle. Who's ever relative he fit (mother's brother or father's brother) did they still invite him over?

I know I would have had such hatred and disgust for him if he touched my kid.

Why they didn't do it is pretty clear, you said it yourself and i noticed it, kids younger and younger know about sex. Why no mention of what happened to them?

This isn't about the parents or the uncle, this is about the child and letting that child know if there is ever anything wrong, asking people when you feel something isn't right.

Mentioning that Uncle Pete went to jail, uncle pete and their parents never spoke again or their parents got a divorce. Why? I know it sounds weird but it just takes away the innocence of the story for these kids. Also there are 2 ways they might see this.

1. The kids might see this as everything went wrong because they told what happened, they need to know telling people may be the safest way and the right way out. If kids who have been molested know their favorite uncle would be thrown in jail, even if what he did was wrong would they tell? If they knew their parents countless fighting leads to a divorce would you tell on them? You need to make them feel it's ok to tell, even if the outcome is not like in the book, you got them to tell, which is a HUGE step in the right direction. They need to know it's not their fault, but if you write that Uncle pete was NEVER allowed back,. Uncle pete went to jail, mom and dad got divorced, would just make it seem like it was their fault, which is not the case.

So there needs to be some sort of fairytale innocence in this to avoid those two situations

or

2. Kids are evil and if they know saying uncle pete could get him in jail, it won't be hard to just say "He's touching me in my privates" even if it isn't true. Just to get back at Uncle pete, just because they hate their dad or mom, they do it to tear them apart or tear their parents apart from Uncle pete with just one lie.

I agree 100% with your two points. And I like this idea. Would you prefer kids being oblivious to this and think that uncle P touching them is normal for boys, or would you want them to know its not normal, and tell someone before it gets out of hand.

I don't see what's so disturbing.. it was an ok book to me.
