WWE Studios Begins Production Of New Movie Starring Edge

World Wrestling Entertainment seems to be taking the entertainment aspect to a whole other level and are going full round when it comes to producing movies through their film studio, WWE Studios.

We have seen “The Chain Gang Soldier” John Cena, “The Big Red Machine” Kane, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and plan to see “The World’s Largest Athlete” The Big Show, “The Game” Triple H and “The Viper” Randy Orton grace the big screen in a WWE Studios film, but their is another superstar that is also set to make his big screen debut.

“The Rated R Superstar” Edge is slated to appear in an upcoming WWE Studios film project, entitled Bending The Rules, co-starring with well known Hollywood personality Jamie Kennedy.

According to a report by Mike Fleming, of Deadline, the film project has recently underwent full production and although both characters portray comedic acts in particular most of the time, whether it’s Kennedy on the big screen or Edge inside the squared circle, the upcoming flick will be a dramatic feature.

According to the article, the synopsis of the film will see Jamie Kennedy portray a district attorney who’s trying to bring down a New Orleans police detective, which will be portrayed by Adam Copeland (Edge) on corruption charges. Following a loss in the case, Kennedy’s character gets a prized possession swiped and some intriguing events unfolds as he is set to retrieve his 1956 Studebaker Goldenhawk.

The report also notes that Jessica Walter, Jennifer Esposito, Alicia Witt and Phillip Baker Hall round out the cast for the upcoming film from “The Worldwide Leader in Sports Entertainment”.

Also included in the report is that the executive producer of Saving Grace, Artie Mandelberg, will direct the film, and the script was inked by Dylan Schaffer.

Additionally there is a slate of eight more World Wrestling Entertainment films on their way in the future, including the first professional wrestling related flick to be produced by the company chronicling the life of recently inducted WWE Hall Of Famer, Gorgeous George.

The movie sounds pretty good. You guys are right about Cena (3 movies,) Austin was only in the Condemned - The Expendables isn't a WWE film.
