Mickie James- Smackdown

The fued of Mickie James versus Laycool quickly became one of the most interesting and creative diva storylines with have seen in years. We were getting decent lengthed matches again, and every week there was guarenteed to be a backstage/in ring skit of some sort, where the divas could develop themselves. This was something we had anticipated for a long time- and keep in mind, this was a fued which lasted several months. A diva fued? Never!

This fued heightened at the celebration where Mickie and Maria crashed the party. Everyone anticipated the three way at Wrestlemania for the womens championship between Beth, Mickie & Michelle, which could easily go down as one great divas match. Mickie squashed Michelle at the Rumble to give her some revenge for all the insult she was put through...But after that, everything seemed to fall apart. Maria was released, who although wasn't the best wrestler was improving more constantly than she had before, was attractive, overness which competed with Mickie, and was superb on the mic (just see the Mickie party segment). Soon Mickie contracted a staph infection, which I think everyone can agree ruined this fued. Mickie was forced to drop the title back to Michelle a few weeks later, which I doubt would've happened if Mickie didn't get this infection.

We recieved instead a lackluster divas tag match at Wrestlemania after all the anticipation, totally killing the moment. The only good thing from this was an Extreme Makeover match at Extreme Rules (divas finally using weapons), an over Beth, and a decent fued between the two, though not competing with the previous. What could've been...

Vickie's involvement in the fued, and Beth's apparent confusion about who to team with took this fued to greater heights, developing it further. Beth finally chose Mickie, but it was too late, as Mickie was soon departed anyway.

If Mickie wasn't injured, she could've dominated as the top face of the division (and boy was she the top face in WWE, stupid to release her), until Wrestlemania, where a 3 way occured. This would've been the perfect way to end/continue the fued, the way it should've been. Now we look at SD and see such a lackluster division, which was thriving just months ago.

They could've took it so much further...Laycool could unveil that Mickie/Beth were best friends in high school, and Mickie did something to hurt Beth- they could go on about how Mickie isn't so nice herself. Could lead to Mickie going psycho heel, feeling all the past come up again, with Beth trying to help her.

I agree with you I enjoyed that piggy james storyline.I hated how all the SD Divas get realeased and not the raw divas I mean why get rid of maria and mickie when both are the top 2 faces of the company at the time.We never get anything good from SD its always about Raw.SD never gets a 3 hour special or anything for that matter.After serena's realeased there's only like 5 SD Divas on the roster while Raw has like 10 Divas.

yeah, a Mickie-Beth-Michelle triple threat at WrestleMania would have been brilliant. the Smackdown division was brilliant a few months ago but they could still build it up again if they just moved Gail and Jillian over there
