Backstage Update - Chris Jericho's WWE Future, More

On Monday's RAW, Chris Jericho announced that he will be leaving WWE once and for all if he does not win the WWE Championship in the 6-pack challenge match at Night of Champions. With Jericho's WWE contract expiring soon and talk that he's strongly considering leaving the company to pursue his career in the entertainment industry, it appears WWE has begun setting the stage for his possible departure.

As of this past weekend, a WWE source stated that Jericho still has not signed a new contract. It's still entirely possible that Jericho re-signs, but since Jericho has acknowledged in several recent interviews that his contract is expiring and he's considering moving on, WWE has incorporated the real situation into WWE storylines.

Jericho has said he wants more time off to to spend with his family, record music and tour with his heavy metal band Fozzy and pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Raw will always be Jericho.

Jericho is going no doubt about it, he should move on before he ruins other opportunities.

No doubt about it but he's at that point where he's done everything and he's still on top, so he might as well go out that way, kinda like The Rock.

Least he'll go out not as an embarrassment like last time. I wish he'd get another face run though Guess this NEXUS thing was the closest we got.

He accomplished a lot since returning:
-Finally won elimination chamber
-2 time IC champ
-4 time Tag champ
-3 Time heavyweight champ

@Jordan: I'm glad Rock left when he did because be became difficult to watch for me beginning in 2000. I still liked him, but the constant pwnage made me dislike him to certain degrees - not as much as Cena because his promos were far beyond anything Cena could ever do and he was still very entertaining to watch. The same thing happened with HHH once DX was brought back in 2006 - sucks because I was a huge fan.

@Triple X: Unfortunately, that sucky face run from 07-08 might be his last.
