What Happens To Parks & Recreation And Community Now?

With the announcement that NBC’s Outsourced has been picked up for a full season, Parks & Recreation fans are understandably concerned. And perhaps Community fans should be too.

Because one of two things will have to happen [Edit; Maybe both!]:

1. An extra hour of (two) sitcoms will be inserted into the NBC schedule after football ends.

and/or

2. Either Parks & Recreation OR Community will not be on NBC’s spring schedule.

I have no idea how to handicap these two possibilities. Community hasn’t done well, but compared to the rest of NBC’s shows it hasn’t done terribly. I have no knowledge of any change in status for Parks & Recreation or other NBC mid-season shows. And while NBC hasn’t had 30 minute sitcoms elsewhere on its schedule, it certainly looks to have a number of holes to fill come spring.

I believe Parks & Recreation was set to come back midseason in the spot from Outsourced, but now that Outsourced has an order of a full season and will be part of the spring shedule....and The Office & 30 Rock being their favorite shows.

Community or Parks & Recreation might get shafted to a bad timeslot with chances of being canceled.

NBC also have about 3 new shows premiering midseason. We have Friends With benefits, Love Bites & Pefrect COuples. And parks & Recreation still needing to premier...might be a problem. Love Bites will most likely take over "Undercover's" wednesday night timeslot. While i still have no idea where the two new shows will be placed. It's going to be an interesting shedule once Januari comes around.

Lol it's easy. Outsourced was supposed to end at mid-season. BUT NBC picked it up for a full season, so instead of being cut short, it was obviously a success so they decided to continue it through the spring season,.


BUT problem is, Parks & Recreation was set up to take over the timeslot Oursourced was in. Now that NBC sees Outsourced as a priority and 30 Rock & The Office was always their top priority, with the lowest ratings of the 4 show, Community might get shafted. for Parks & Recreation (since 22 episodes of community was ordered) or Parks & Recreation might get shafted to a worse timeslot.

Notice every network has a comedy night where they have an entire night of comedy. So Parks & Recreation or Community might end up having to go up against either Dancing with the Stars on Mondays, Modern Family & soon American Idol on tuesdays or soon Glee on wednesdays. Or one of them could get shafted to the danger zone called Friday nights. And aside from figuring out where they will put one of those two shows, they already have 3 other comedies set to premier mid-season as well, who will need a good timeslot since it is their first season.

So expect lots of last minute changes to NBC's line-up once 2011 comes around.

oh damn that wouldnt be good if they moved it to fridays. hopefully they sort it all out i kind of like parks & recreation
