They don't have to say who they're supposed to be. it's implied that that's who they are supposed to be but a watered-down, kid-friendly version of them, from the shirt to the tactics but with certain differences to prevent them from becoming a total ripoff. They hoped Nexus garnered a fan following to sell shirts like the nWo and/or DX did in their day but the Nexus suck so that went down the toilet.

Great. Now there will be a different swerve at Survivor Series with Orton retaining and Cena still being stuck in Nexus.

Seriously, don't use a guy to help Nexus get sales, just get rid of those ugly shirts and the idiots instead

I actually quite like the shirts. I find them simple but effective. No fancy designs, no nothing. Just a simple logo.
