When Will Joey Mercury Return To Action In WWE?

With what could be considered one of the most disappointing returns in professional wrestling in 2010, Joey Mercury definitely has to be in the discussion to be on top of the list with all the hype surrounding his involvement with World Wrestling Entertainment and potential ideas floating around.

After weeks of a masked superstar assisting the C.M. Punk led Straight Edge Society, Mercury was finally revealed to be the culprit after being unmasked by “The World’s Largest Athlete” The Big Show on an edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Unfortunately for Mercury however, he suffered a torn pectoral muscle shortly after returning to action inside the squared circle and has been sidelined for quite some time.

However, it could be looked at as a blessing in disguise considering the timing, with The Straight Edge Society quickly coming to an end following Serena Deeb‘s release from the promotion and numerous job efforts to The Big Show throughout the summer.

According to a report from F4W Online, Joey Mercury is currently working out in Florida while he has been out of action after having surgery to repair the injury. There is still no timetable however as to when the former co-holder of the WWE World Tag Team Championship can resume his in-ring career.

With Luke Gallows joining Serena on the unemployment line following the end of the Straight Edge Society, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what the company has planned for Joey upon his return.

Original rumors prior to his return to the company had speculated that he could re-unite with Melina and John Morrison, to reform M’N'M, and go after then WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Hart Dynasty. However, with “The Guru of Greatness’s” recent explosion on the Monday Night RAW brand as a singles competitor, it is highly unlikely at this point.

While a return to WWE‘s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, seems most likely; he could possibly find himself in the same situation as Serena and Gallows working the independent professional wrestling scene shortly thereafter.

He retired once, I'm sure if he gets released again he'll retire again.

I say don't just bring him back and give him one of your half-assed push attempts. Pair him with someone like Curt Hawkins (or they could reunite Hawkins and Ryder.)

Or fire him. He has little to not talent.

Hopefully he returns when his hair gets long again.

The Hart Dynasty arent the tag champs, so this has to be extremely old
