WWE Writer McMahon High On Sheffield, Original Nexus Plans Rejected

* Piermarini says the original concept of the Uso brothers was to present them as the opposite of the stereotypical Samoan wrestler—educated, intelligent and wear boots. "Usos would essentially have been the Russell Simmons of the WWE. That preppy hip-hop style," he says. Piermarini attributes their lackluster push in the organization to Vince McMahon not understanding hip-hop culture, and thus couldn't comprehend the appeal of the brothers Uso. He also says they fell victim to bad timing due to The Nexus debuting shortly after them.

* Vince McMahon views Skip Sheffield as a potential number two babyface, behind John Cena. He remains sidelined after suffering a compound fracture of his ankle in August. Expect a major push when he returns but as always, things can change. Sheffield has always reminded me and others within WWE of a young 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. Seriously they had guys like Christian, Jericho, Booker T, Edge, RVD back in the early 2000's who were as over as anything but they didn't give a shit, but suddenly they will push a nobody? See how much WWE's changed..

I still find it fucked up that Christian hasn't been world champ. He was as good as anyone in the company from 2003-2005.

I think Sheffield could be a main event star in the future.

I like Skip Sheffield, have done since he was Ryback in FCW. I'd be quite happy to see him in the main event. Another Stone Cold though? I don't think so, he reminds me more of JBL prior to his transformation to JBL, back in his Bradshaw days, only minus the hair.

They need to bring back that Ryback gimmick: Terminator gimmick = WIN WIN WIN
