Terminator 4 : Rise of the 333 HP Machines Empty
PostSubject: Terminator 4 : Rise of the 333 HP Machines   Terminator 4 : Rise of the 333 HP Machines EmptyWed 16 Feb 2011, 2:51 pm

Captain on deck.

A few weeks ago our friends at What’s Playing reported a rumor
suggesting Arnold Schwarzenegger might be involved in the new McG-less
“Terminator” movie. Today, Deadline
near solidifies that rumor, suggesting that the ex-Governor’s decision
to return to acting may have pushed “Terminator 5″ closer to the
cameras. Does that mean he’s in it? Of course not, but still…
interesting right?

But more so, Deadline reports that Justin Lin, director of the last
three “Fast and Furious” movies, may end up directing the film. And if that comes off, anyone want to make bets that Vin Diesel ends up in the film!? (I’m such a fucking fanboy at times)

Anyway, here’s what What’s Playing’s London Insider reported in January :

”With The Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, having just left his
office in California this past week and co-creator and the wonderfully
pleasant producer and of The Terminator Gale Anne Hurd reportedly keen
to ‘do another one’ (Terminator movie), there’s all sorts of talk out
there regarding what form this fifth Terminator movie may take. While I
really doubt Arnold will be back (he’s left the franchise behind), I’ve
just heard a great rumour : The third-hand bit of gossip has
Schwarzenegger playing multiple characters in a new Terminator movie for
Universal (who want the franchise) and a certain director known for
helming one of their franchises – he’d play both the human who lent his
likeness to the Terminator as well ‘hundreds’ of Terminators. I’ve had
the good fortune of meeting Arnold a couple of times, the last time in
Cannes with producers Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna when they were all
promoting T3. Great times, however, I’d put my money on Arnold becoming
Vice President than him being involved in another Terminator movie. ”

Deadline says the next “Terminator” movie – which won’t likely
continue the events of “Terminator Salvation” nor will it star Christian
Bale and Sam Worthington – may end up at Universal, who are hoping to
work with Pacificor, the hedge-fund company that bought the “Terminator”
series at an auction last February. If Uni gets the nod, they’ll tap
Lin to direct and “Wanted” scribe Chris Morgan to write. Good mix – but
there’s potential for a better mix…

Again, none of this suggests that Schwarzenegger will do another
“Terminator” movie but it is interesting that the latest installment
would start gearing up now that the big guy has left office.
