MCW Picked Up By TruTV - Details Inside

Micro Championship Wrestling has been acquired by TruTV. MCW filmed a pilot with Bischoff-Hervey Productions. No word on when production will start, but it should be anytime.

It will be taping in Tampa on March 8th with a scheduled appearance by Hulk Hogan. This is now the second wrestling series from Bischoff-Hervey, apart from their work with TNA. They also did Celebrity Championship Wrestling on CMT.

It's worth noting that TruTV also airs Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory.

whats funny is this got a major tv deal before roh.

you know why? because this isnt gonna be taken seriously...

There are many little promotions that get local TV deals.

ROH shouldn't worry, because TruTV is nothing, they should aim for a better TV deal at this point and keep in mind there are conditions both ROH and the Network needs to agree with before signing the dotted line. ROH doesn't want to get into a deal like where WWE is now with their Tough Enough Deal where they have no say.

It's easy to say "haha funny they got a deal and ROH didn't" yet you don't know if the conditions TruTV is offering, ROH agrees with it. MCW may agree with those terms but ROH doesn't.

It's not just "Want a TV Deal? Ok there you go, do whatever you want". Some networks want control of what the product is giving to it's viewers, some would tell them tone down the violence, some would say your not violent enough.

Either way both the company and the Network, needs to be in full agreement before any cotnracts could be signed........and that's how the business works.

^ kinda like what happened to ECW back in the day. TNN gave them a deal, but wanted control over what happened during the show, and even during commercials. plus TNN gave them no advertising (kinda like what they do with TNA now) so why would ROH want to get into talks with a company that could possibly do that to them as well
