| The worst year on every broadcast network? Mike & Molly and Raising Hope the soul survivors?
This year every new television show that has premiered has almost been canceled and a huge amount of them are heading into that direction.
Let’s review, ABC this year introduced a good amount of new shows. The Whole Truth and My generation both got canceled last year within 6 episodes. Three other new shows, No Ordinary Family, Off the Map and Detroit 1-8-7 are currently the next 3 shows to be canceled while Luke Perry’s Mr. Sunshine started out strong, its ratings already dropped almost 40% since it’s premier. Both Better with You and Mr. Sunshine are gunning on ABC building a second comedy night to survive. If ABC decides not to go through with the plan, both shows will be canceled. ABC has 2 more new shows to premier and both don’t show promising to be huge hits. The Comedy “Happy Endings” and the medical crime drama “Body Of Proof” featuring a former desperate housewife “Katherine Mayfear”
CBS had a much better new line up then the other networks. Mike & Molly is one of two new shows this year to be the only show making it through to the 2011-2012 season line up. Especially since it’s the second best rated sitcom on CBS right after Two and a Half Men, and without a new TAAHM lead in this week, it has managed to keep it’s viewers. But CBS also had it’s list of failed shows. The Defenders moved up from a summer series to a fall series..and ironically fell. It’s currently CBS’s first show to get cut. Another show in the runnings to be canceled is Blue Bloods, the only thing saving this show is that it’s originally a Friday night show and has done good for a Friday night show. The quick declining in ratings “Shit My Dad Says” is also on the verge of being canceled, what can save this show? If Two and a Half men doesn’t return for another season, if not, this show is also as good as gone. Along side the new comedy “Mad Love” staring Jason Biggs. CBS has two more shows yet to premier, would be interesting to see how they do.
Fox has the second show who has made the cut. “Raising Hope” is a success, it was the first new series to be given a full 22 episode order this season and also the first new series to get picked up for a second season. Yes it’s official Raising Hope is back for the 2011-2012 shedule, a little thank you to Glee and American Idol for helping this show being a great lead in. But onto the bad now. They already canceled 3 new shows this year. The Good Guys, Running Wilde and Lonestar (Depsite the critics calling it the best new show on tv). They also have new show Traffic Lights soon to be canceled. With the renewal of American Dad, Bob’s Burgers is as good as doomed, since Fox likes to keep it’s Sunday animated comedy block on four series. Bob’s burgers might be lucky they get the 7:30 timeslot. As for now, it’s as good as gone. The last new show fighting for it’s life is “The Chicago Code”, who is battling Fringe to remain on the air. We’ll see what happens in may. Fox has one more comedy starring Christian Slater, which is called “breaking In”, lets see if this one survives.
Now onto the last network who probably had the worse year and has the most canceled shows. NBC. Where do I start? So far NBC has canceled Outlaw, Chase and Undercovers. Then Perfect Couples and The Cape are on the verge of being canceled. Despite all the hype, though it has yet to return, the Event has been a HUGE disappointment in ratings and will most likely be canceled as well. While Rookie shows Outsourced and Harry’s Law is trying to keep it’s head above water. Outsourced was NBC’s second best scripted Sitcom in the fall, but has dropped immensely since premiering in it’s new 10:30 timeslot following 30 Rock. Harry’s Law has probably two of the worst lead ins ever, The Cape that draw’s a mare 1.2 rating and the forever bubble show Chuck.
But this is not all. NBC still has 4 more scripted shows and one none scripted show that STILL needs to premier. 3 comedies Love Bites, Friends With benefits and The Paul Reiser show. While drama Law & Order: LA still has to premier as well. Also dutch import “The Voice” also still needs to premier.
NBC has one of the busiest schedules. And most of the shows failed.
So TV was horrible this year, 80% of all the new shows will be canceled, which is very rare.
Let’s see what 2011-2012 brings us.

| I used hate Seinfeld. I realized it actually pretty decent. Not my favorite show, but I like it.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus was pretty frickin' sexy imo... she's still pretty attractive.

| part of the problem is how they break up series latly
I mean they all pause there series and it's dumb because they can't beat certain shows. Like every new episode is about to go on a month break here when NCAA March Madness starts So from March 15-April 4th. CBS is mainly locked for sports run over here along with TNT,TBS,and TruTv. I won't watch fox shows and stuff because I like March Madness but if they were looking to try to win some people over who don't watch sports they could try but they won't they will wait till CBS will send back on there shows. Reality TV will be what mainly is gonna run and then they will wonder why CBS is always in the lead. It's because CBS shows won't be beaten cause they ain't offer nothing else to watch almost but Idol.

| Interesting CP.
But i don't think Reality shows have really taken over. They have put more reality shows on TV. But i notiece they are all Summer and winter shows for the most part.
Although the big rated shows like Idol, DWTS and The Biggest Loser all air like other shows...many other reality shows have been tossed into summer series.

Idol is seasonal, it always airs in the winter/beginning of spring. DWTS is like...2-3 times a year? same thing with TBL and shows like Survivor

I have to agree. Raising hope and Outsourced are like my favorite shows this year. The Event, Bob's Burgers, Perfect Couples, Mike & Molly, No Ordinary Family were all okay shows. I enjoyed them but not MAJORLY huge fan crazed about them. I kinda liked My Generation....but it was just weird to watch for some reason.

| No this thread was made because in 2009-2010 we saw LOADS of new shows premier and found success.
Parks & Recreation, Community, Modern Family, Glee, The Middle, Cougar Town, V and though a huge ammount got cut, there was still a handfull who made it to the second round. This year, barely ANY of the shows will make it to next years line up and it's rather sad.
That was the point of this thread silly Billy.
Not comparing with 100 years ago -_-
