Shimmer star siged by WWE

Diva Dirt can exclusively reveal that SHIMMER star, Tenille Tayla, has signed a developmental deal with WWE.

The 22-year-old Australian native, who our readers voted #9 on our 50 Sexiest Divas countdown last year, signed a deal this past weekend, I’m told.

In recent years, she has resided in Canada training under Lance Storm and working for ECCW where she held the Supergirls Championship.

Tenille is perhaps best known for her work in SHIMMER, however, where she’s had breakout matches against the likes of Sara Del Rey, Athena and Malia Hosaka.

This is a repeat of 2002/2003 WWE signed Shantelle Taylor, Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Katie Lea, Krissy Vaine from shimmer and toss them all to rot and be misused. Robbed Shimmer of Talent and treated them like shit.

Pretty harsh assessment. Yeah WWE misuse their women but Beths had a great career, Natalyas not done too bad and you could argue that maybe Shantelle and Angel wouldn't have come to the attention of TNA and had good careers there if they weren't signed by WWE.

It's an exciting opportunity for a lot of people to be signed by the WWE. Regular paycheck, international recognition and the fact they get to do what they love to do on a worldwide stage. Don't think we should write her off before she's even appeared on TV yet.

I'm sorry if your doing what you love if they paid me $50 to do it I will. I feel as a women's wrestler WWE is not the place i want to go ever. I wouldn't sign with WWE, Jillian Hall, Gail Kim, Molly Holly, Serena, the major release in 2004 (Gail, Jazz, Nidia, Angelina, Shantelle, Tracy Taylor) is perfect proof of what they are looking for.

Tenille is NOT the best wrestler and i the WWE signed her because she's pretty and that's it. If she wasn't Pretty WWE would have never given her a look. And that's where it comes down too. She's pretty and then you are given 2 minutes to do "what you love" like every 3 weeks??

Grats to her, she is now one of the first Australian women's wrestlers in the WWE I believe.

But much like Kong, i'm sad to report, i won't be following her WWE career either.

I am extremely happy for Tennille. The one bad thing about this is that she won't be able to be at the March Shimmer taping.
