Are You Ungrateful?

I know many people out there, including myself, at times feel depressed at the way their life turned out/believing that they deserved better than what they have recieved.

Some of you may remember the video I posted a while back about the girl with the deformed face, which she was born with.

Today I thought I would bring up those young men during 1918-1924 and 1939-1945 who were as old as many of the young men on here (even as young as VLG when they got desperate), who not only went to war, but were FORCED to go to war via Conscription/Draft.

Imagine being a young man, just turning eighteen or even before, knowing that you had your entire life ahead of you. Playing with your mates in the parks and stuff, having your eye on that beautiful young girl, but at the front of your mind being scared shitless that your name would be called in the draft, and you'd be forced to go to war or go to jail. Imagine being that young girl/or family member of the one who was called to go to war, where they possibly won't be returning home, and the impact that would have on you. Imagine being that young man, knowing that you probably won't return home and see your loved ones, and a good possibility that you will need to kill someone in cold blood, or will have to go through the pain of being shot/living in such conditions.

Are they being ungrateful for believing they deserve better? Are they being ungrateful for just wanting to be that person who could have the freedom to do what they wish, like we do? Taking every day for granted, just hoping they have the chance to have kids and find someone?

Going off subject a bit, which would you choose? War or imprisonment Or would you run away, with the chance of being killed/imprisoned anyway? What are your thoughts on war? Do you believe in it?

Well, I'm not a fan of war. However the egos of people make it a necessary survival tactic of a nation. I've certainly thought about this more than once over the last few years. Not going to lie, I'd be shitting bricks if I knew my ultimately be war or prison. My grandfather (r.i.p.) is a WWII veteran. He made it back home, but his health took a turn for the worse and he passed away a short while later - idk exactly when. My oldest nephew's pops is in Iraq: I pray to the heavens that he makes it back in one piece so his son can have a father.

I feel very fortunate to live in an age post-draft.

I'm grateful, i am not a supporter of war, i currently have a cousin trying to get into the military. I support his decision but not that i agree with it.

I probably would have been killed before going to war because of my sexuality. They wouldn't have accepted me or throw me in prison or worse.

Don't like war, the see the point of it.....not a topic i like touching at all. Because in the end who's are you fighting?? From Hitler's followers of fools to todays....who's war are you fighting?

In WW2, i could seriously understand who's war...but in this day an age..i beg to differ.
