| From the recent Hepatitis C reports, regarding WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher and independent wrestling talent, Devon Nicholson, to “Superstar” Billy Graham wanting to be removed from the WWE Hall of Fame, because of this drama, talk of infectious diseases is running rampant amongst professional wrestling talent young and old right now.
However, the most recent news may possibly be the most shocking one.
According to a report from WLWT.com, an affiliate of NBC, Andre Davis, who competed in the Ohio area as Andre Heart was charged yesterday after police state that he had sex with another person, knowing that he was HIV-positive. The report notes that Davis has been charged with a second-degree felonious assault for engaging the sex act with another person on March 3rd of this year.
Davis, who competed for various independent wrestling promotions up until recently, had done bloody matches in the past, which is worrying for some of his opponents. Davis was offered a chance at joining the WWE back in 2009, however prior to agreeing the contract, WWE canceled all contact with Davis, possibly due to this issue.
Prosecutors yesterday stated that Davis has known that he has the infection since 2009 and that there is an ongoing investigation into Davis’ actions and that there may be more victims of this act. Davis is currently on $25,000 conditional bond and must wear an electronic monitoring device at all times.
Meanwhile, Brandon Tolle, a local referee from the Ohio area, has requested that anyone who has worked a match against Davis in the past should get themselves tested and checked up on, as soon as possible.
