Is Kofi Kingston a Potential World Champion?

Do you guys really see Kofi Kingston winning the World Heavyweight or WWE Championship?

based on his popularity yes....not for a long time though

I honestly do not know man! how young is he? I'm sure he'll get title shots but I highly doubt he'll win.

well i think he is 27 and although that isnt as young as we think....he did actually get an education etc. he is only two years pro
and im sure in the coming two years he will get a good few shots...and sooner or later he will win...i reckon...i deffinetly think he has a good shot at the ecdub one if he moves back there

he should turn heel... reveal he is actually from Ghana, and use affirmative action to win matches with a two count instead of a three.

He's entertaining......but not in the way that would scream "FACE OF THE WWE!!"

I have no choice but to agree with this here! I just dont see it at all but who knows really? ECW Title yes he'll possibly get it should he go back there but the main 2 titles? nah

It pisses me off that Swagger gets the ECW title yet Kofi or Bourne didnt. I see Kofi as a champ, maybe not for a while, cause we have title hogs (Edge, Triple H, Batista, John Cena).

TBh i agree that kofi doesnt seem world title potential....but i never saw the strap reaching jeff shoulder...not because of the drugs but it just doesnt fit him,,, i feel the same way with many guys who deserve the title, kofi, shelton, mvp

I guess you have a point, I mean who would have thought 10 years ago that Jeff would be a maineventer? A champion no less? so its possible for Kofi

But I see where you're comin from LL. Kofi could be a World Champ, but I don't see it happening with his "Trouble in Paradise", "Boom! Boom!" persona.

He'll grow out of that in a few years and be more serious

I would love to see both Kofi and Punk in the main event scene (in Punks care again). I hate how overweight big guys and muscle freaks like Batista automatically get that position. It's stupid since most of them are slow as hell anyway. I though Eddie and Chris Beniot broke that stereotypes about the smaller guys after winning the championship belts a few years ago. Oh well, at least Edge and Jeff get moments now and then.

I don't see him ever being champ. Someone said this the other day about Shelton: you have to be more than just a "Super Generic Athletic Man." Other than his athleticism, Kofi as well as Shelton don't really have much else. Let's admit it... would you care for either of the two if they couldn't do the things that they do in the ring? I know I sure as hell wouldn't!

As Many have said I'm a big Mark. I have to say it: Kofi Kingston at this point is the 4th most deserving person in the WWE that deserves a World Title.

but kofi has more then athletisicm....he has in my eyes more charisma then shelton, he gets more pops as a face then shelton gets heat as a heel

Now, onto Kofi Kingston. He's a great upcoming star, who I see potential in. He doesn't really have much of a gimmick to play around with though. I think he could be good on the mic, but I'm not sure. From what I've seen, his mic work isn't really solid. It on the other hand, could easily improve. He's already got the look and the talent and he just need to work on a good gimmick, and improve his mic skills. If that were to happen, Kofi Kingston, will definitely be a main eventer. I'm not sure if he will ever be a world champion.. but if that does happen Kofi might be the first black WWE champ. I don't know though.


To be better, all Kofi, needs is a better gimmick and more mic time.

Kori would be a good world champ in time. He just need more experience first. and hopefully WWE decides to give him a chance.

At this current time, no. He still has a long way to go before he gets any major titles.

Kofi's not yet ready for a world title opportunity, and it's still too early to say definitively if he will be someday. However, he has tons of potential, and I (and many other observers) felt the MitB match at WM 25 was his true "breakout" and that he really began to establish himself as a superstar with his performance.

He's over with the crowd, has charisma, is extremely athletic and capable in the ring. He just needs more experience and more chances to show what he can do in higher-profile feuds and storylines.

Kofi or Shelton should've won MITB. but i'm kinda glad Kofi didnt. it gives him more time to develop.

I think Kofi Kingston is definitely World Championship material. He's exciting, fun to watch, got lots of potential, great athleticism, and lots of stamina and charisma. I think Kofi will win the World Title in the near future, but he's just too young and too inexperienced to win the title at this point and stage in his career. But he should and most likely will win the title if he keeps his career as he is keeping it now. He's already been Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion, and it is just a matter of time before he wins the World Title to make his career 100 percent complete and successful.

I agree with Scotty on this one. He has a lot of Momentum, Athleticism and Potential to become World Champion.

They are obsessed with pushing Cena, HHH, Batista, Edge, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels. Jericho is so good that they HAVE to push him. Kofi is on a show that revolves around overpushed mainventers. He's not seeing the limelight no time soon.

Quoted for the truth! Kofi had a better chance on SD, with HHH, Orton, Batista and Cena? Kingston wont be winning that title anytime soon

but u gotta remember that Tista is retiring soon..HHH will HOPEFULLY retiring soon...and Cena will sooner or later go too movies full time...so im not expecting nor do i want him to win the world title in the next 24 months....but he deffo will be world champ within the next 5 years

I could see Kofi as a potential world champion...on Smackdown or ECW. But on Raw, no chance in hell, and as a Kofi fan, it makes me sad.

I haven't thought about that! HHH retiring never crossed my mind since he is always in a angle. Cena will sellout soon enough too. So yea Kofi may have a chance in 5 or so years
