We’re only a couple of weeks away from broadcasters unveiling their fall schedules and intriguing pilots are emerging as front-runners to land coveted series orders.
Of the two most high-profile super-girl-power pilots, ABC’s Charlie’s Angels has ridiculously strong odds; we’re told its screenings have gone very well. NBC’s Wonder Woman is considered less certain despite heavy online interest in the costume. Should the David E. Kelley project make the cut for fall, it will be interesting to see if the Peacock grants his request to to air the pilot commercial free (but with a sponsor, no doubt).
Fox’s Touch will likely bring Kiefer Sutherland back to the network as the father of an autistic child who can predict the future. The drama written by Tim Kring (Heroes) is considered so strong that it retains front-runner status despite the fact there’s no pilot; It won’t shoot until this summer to accommodate Sutherland’s schedule (he’s been appearing on Broadway and, we hope, getting that 24 movie ready for a 2012 premiere). Though Alcatraz has generated fan interest because it’s re-teaming uber-producer J.J. Abrams and Lost star Jorge Garcia, it may not get a spot. Why? The network has several high-concept dramas in the works (hi, Terra Nova!) with limited slots to fill and other projects are getting a strong response. While another heavy buzz genre project, Locke & Key, is said to look great, but plays a bit slow.
Speaking of remake, NBC’s version of the UK hit Prime Suspect starring Maria Bello — looks like a sure thing, as does Smash, the Peacock’s Glee-style musical series produced by Steven Spielberg (In fact, we hear Will & Grace’s Debra Messing rocks the crap out of this pilot). Of NBC’s two most fantastical projects, the fairy tale series Grimm is looking more promising than Ron Moore’s magic cops drama 17th Precinct.
CBS’ doesn’t have much real estate to fill (which, the network notes every year, is a “luxury” problem). Their latest cop drama, Rookies, produced by Robert De Niro, is considered a frontrunner, though we’re hearing CBS loves Sarah Michelle Gellar but only likes her pilot, Ringer. Dang? Meanwhile the brass is said to like Poppy Montgomery in the cop procedural The Rememberer (and yes, we think the title is painful, too).
Over at ABC, the pilot shoot for Tim Allen’s new sitcom went extraordinary well and is considered a slam dunk for fall (it’s from 30 Rock scribe Jack Burditt). James’ current obsession, the Edgar Allan Poe-as-crime-fighter-drama called Poe, is getting a lukewarm reception, with Chris Egan looking inappropriately hot in the lead (Counters Lynette: Is that really possible?). One of the less splashy drama titles, the Angela Bassett police drama Identity, is getting strong buzz. Things aren’t looking too great for Marc Cherry’s semi-musical Hallelujah, but soap Good Christian Bitches has more than a prayer of landing a slot (and not a chance in hell of keeping its title).
More updates/rumors as they come in.------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what do you plan on watching if anything?

| Let's see who gets canceled first may 17th before i start predicting the new line ups for next season. Happy Endings & Outsourced NEED to make the cut next year....I LOVE those two shows don't want them to get canceled While i already know Perfect Couples, The Event and Better With You will be canceled.....BUT still love em ABC needs to find a show that fits well with "The Middle" it seems to be the problem with their line up, they have great shows with mild adult content (Happy Endings, Cougar Town & Mr. Sunshine) and Modern Family is kicking ass in it's 9PM slot and is serving as an amazing show to help cougar Town in ratings (Despite the fact Cougar Town Loses 50% of the viewers). ABC Wednesday Night Comedy Block could be: 8:00: The Middle 8:30: A more Family Friendly New Comedy 9:00: Modern Family 9:30: Cougar Town (Fall 11 Episodes) - Happy Endings (Spring 13 Episodes) 10:00: Most Promising New Comedy (Fall) - Cougar Town (Spring 12 Episodes) 10:30: Mr. Sunshine (Fall 12 Episodes) - New Comedy (Spring) 3 Potential new Comedies on the side, just in case any of the new comedies bomb. WHILE by the end of that Season make a choice, drop either Mr. Sunshine, Cougar Town or Happy Endings and pick up one for a full 22 episode season. I seriously.....need to be a Network owner lmao. | |

| The only comedies on network television I really watch is Modern Family but that is when it comes on dvd so I'm so behind.
I tend to like dramas more at least most of the comedies I like are on HBO/Showtime..
I am looking forward to SMG and Kiefer's new shows so I hope they are on good days of the week for me.
I don't think I'll watch Charlie's Angels but depending on the night I might check it out.

| Ewww Modern Family is SHIT i hate that show. I love comedies, I live for comedies, The Middle, Happy Endings, Desperate Housewives, Better With You, Mike & Molly, Outsourced, Perfect Couples, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, United States of Tara, Glee, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, The Big C, Bored to Death, Raising Hope, Workaholics, Working Class, Hot In Cleveland, Retired at 35, The IT-Crowd, The Inbetweeners, Cougar Town (though haven't watched a new episode since last november, have em all downloaded and ready to watch) Are just a few of the comedies i watch Actually have Parks & Recreation, Blue Mountain State, Breaking In, his and Hers and Nurse Jackie on my hard drive downloaded as my back up shows when the seasons are over. AND looking into watching Castle. I also have old series like "Accidentaly on Purpose", "The Class", The New Adventures of Old Christine", "About a girl" all on my hardrive and actually watch them again when i'm bored. They were cool shows.

| From what I've seen of Outsourced I was not a fan and could care less if it is picked up or not.
Same with Better With You.
But maybe they'll survive..?

| Nah Better With You is as good as gone. Eventhough The Middle is a poor show to start out the comedy Block, Being Stuck between The Middle & Modern Family and STILL manages to lose about 25% of the Viewers of The Middle and once it's over the Viewership rises almost 125%....the show is as good as gone.
Outsourced was the highest rated scripted show on NBC in the fall I believe, which is awesome. BUT it's viewership has dropped Immensly since the fall.
ALTHOUGH it was givent he worse timeslot ever....which is the 10:30PM slot.
Outsourced did BETTER than Parks & Recreation is currently doing in the 9:30 time slot in the Fall...THAT may be it's only saving grace. AND it's 2.4 rating from 2 weeks ago as well.
Last nights ratings did well too.
AND i also watch the animated comedies: Archer, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show AND american Dad.
I have no life lmao | |

| You seriously have no idea in what horrible state NBC is in do you?
Harry's Law (new drama) is drawing an average of 1.9 and might be reniewed. Parenthood: 1.8 average Chuck: 1.6 Average 30 Rock: 2.8 Average The Office: 3.0 average Community: 2.0 average Parks & Recreation: 2.3 average Outsourced: 2.7 average (fall), 1.8 (Spring) The Event: 1.5 Average The Cape: 1.2 (Canceled) Perfect Couples: 1.3 (Canceled) Chase: 0.9 (Canceled) The Paul Reiser Show: 0.7 (Canceled) Law & ORder: SVU: 3.2 Law & Order: Los Angeles: 1.6
Even their reality shows The Apprentice, the Sing off and The Marraige Sheff are doomed.
School pride is as good as canceled as well.
NBC is in a critical state atm when it comes to scripted series....they need a MAJOR revamp. All they have is The Biggest Loser and their Saving grace "The Voice" their whole network is in the slumps.....if you feel uncertain about a show...try getting it on NBC...even with shitty ratings...it might get saved.

| Oh I've known that NBC was doing shitty but now that I see all of those horrible numbers next to each other the 2.4 looks pretty damn good! :-X | |
