The Undertaker Considered Retired Within WWE

Regarding The Undertaker's wrestling status, the mentality of WWE personnel is that he's considered retired. This explains Michelle McCool leaving to spend more time with him at home.

The Undertaker is in far worse physical shape than is being let on. While company officials aren't ruling The Deadman out for a match at WrestleMania XXVIII, he is not expected to compete before then. People close to the legend have talked to him about retiring at the event.

I just think it's so ironic that a business that seems to require top physical condition often leaves people so hurt by the time they leave. If he has an "official" retirement one day, it'll be a day to remember, that's for sure.

The Undertaker has always been such a popular wrestler, even as a heel. It will be a very sad day when he retires, but I hope he retires before he get in such poor condition that he struggles the rest of his life.

Yeah I hope Taker doesn't get (or isn't already) past the point where he can work a good match. I think he still can even with his injuries as long as the match is controlled in some way, like a gimmick match. It was a smart move to have him and HHH work a no-holds barred match where they could set their own pace and tell a great story. Hopefully he has at least one more match like that in him. Would hate to see him retire "behind-the-scenes." Doesn't seem like the way a legend like him should end his career, especially considering his in-ring persona.
