Scripted TV Season Rundown: 48 Renewed, 34 Canceled and 2 Searies end.

So the year review is here. 48 scripted shows got renewed. Of which 9 New shows gets a pick up for a second season and 39 shows comes back for yet another year. 34 Scripted shows got canceled this year of which 29 shows made it's premier. Which means only 5 old shows got cut, V, Brothers & Sisters, Medium, Human Target & Lie to me. While Friday Night Lights and Smallville ended their run.

What a year it has been and curious what this year brings us. Three shows have already been announced to be their last season. 30 Rock, Chuck and One Tree Hill is entering it's last season. Their has been rumors that Desperate Housewives may be in it's last season. But most of the cast (Aside from the 4 leading ladies) have signed contracts till 2013. Plus you always have the "Supernatural's final season" rumors going around. This will also be The Office's first season without Steve Carrell, got to wonder how the show will do without him. Plus Rules of Engagement has been moved to Saturday Nights, with 22 episodes left for CBS to get a Syndication Deal, it might be their final season or CBS is actually trying to work saturday nights? NBC renewed Chuck so they could pass 88 episodes to get a great syndication deal. This might be the reason rules of engagement got renewed and tossed on saturday nights.
