Battlefield 3 is to sell 11 million copies in its first 12
months, analyst firm Cowen & Company expects. The year-one estimate
is up from the previously expected 8 million.Furthermore, gi.biz reports (registration required), the group notes that pre-orders of the DICE shooter are on par with last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. “Roughly comparable” is the phrase used.
Not quite the Modern Warfare 3 competitor yet then, sales wise; the new COD has been said to be tracking “significantly” ahead Black Ops’ pre-orders.
Battlefield 3 is out this October. Catch the latest multiplayer footage from the title here (unofficial) and here (official).
