Raw Divas Discussion thread for July, 25th 2011

Rosa tweeted something that sounded like all the divas would be on Raw again so likely it's gonna be another 14 diva tag match, or hopefully a #1 contender's battle royal

Rosa will be the first lady eliminated if it's a battle royal.

Alicia and Kaitlyn will not be on raw tonight.

it does seem like they might be gearing towards Alicia/Kelly for SummerSlam since both of them are on the poster for it. why else would Alicia be on the poster? if it was to push eye candy they'd have Maryse, the Bellas or Eve on it

well that was just one big hot mess. Maryse and Melina stumbled around like two lost little lambs. i was hoping this was the start of a Melina push but when she can't even sell a bulldog properly i'm glad she lost. Maryse and Kelly's antics were funny and lol at the randomness of the Bellas segment

I wouldn't mind seeing a push for Melina, but Kelly would be a boring feud.

That was just a big pile of awful.

And yes, I know Kelly fans say "Well, you can't expect her to be great, overnight." But, she's been there for five years, now. She's had more than enough time.

I know I keep saying this, but Kelly just is too tiny at 108 pounds for this. Back in the old days, there was no way the similarly sized Terri Runnels was going to be Champion.

Terri knew some moves, and could bump very well, so they'd put her in matches sometimes to further someone else's storyline. She'd be in with one of the wrestlers, get in some surprise offense, get clobbered, and whoever her opponent was really feuding with would do the run in at the end. It got to a point where if you saw Terri coming out to the ring for a match, you knew someone was going to do a run in after.

And that's how the eye candy that can bump is best used in matches, sparingily to where they can be carried through it (Sometimes literally in Terri's case if she ws in with one of the big muscled girls like Victoria or Trish who would scoop her up and lift her over their heads at some point as, again, she was great at bumping) and further a storyline along. Or, they can fill out a tag team like they often did with Stacy where the wrestlers would do most of the work but Stacy could do enough.

Now that I think about how Terri would get in some surprise offence in her matches.. Terri Runnels matches used to be long enough for there to be time for her to get some offence in and tell a story. Yes, we've gotten to the point where the girls don't get as much time for their matches as friggin' TERRI did.

i might be the only one but i wish Del Ray came with Punk and KOW for a short stint..beat the crap out of Kelly...won the divas title.
